Taoist massage is a series of complexes that contribute to the restoration of the body, not only at the physical, but also at the energy level. Originating in China over 5000 years ago, it aims to regulate the smooth flow of energy in the body, which is essential for health and longevity.
Nowadays, Taoist massage services are practiced in many spas and represent whole care programs, which additionally include peeling, masks and hardware methods. But the basic techniques can be successfully performed at home, especially accompanied by pleasant music.
An example of a “home” massage complex
After thoroughly cleansing the skin, lightly rest your palms against your face and slowly make them in a circular motion, moving up to your forehead, then to the sides and down. Repeat several times. Then, in the same way, place your palms on your face, but with movements of your head up and down, continue to gently rub your face. Each exercise is repeated 24 times.
These exercises help not only preserve beauty and restore youthfulness to the skin, but also restore mental balance and inner harmony.
Place your thumbs on your cheekbones. Use your middle and forefinger to draw circles. First, a large one: along the nasal bridge, then along the eyebrows, down and again to the nasal bridge. Then small: along the upper eyelid, bending around the outer corners of the eyes and along the lower eyelid at the very base of the cilia. The skin around the eyes is very delicate, so the touch should be very light. The exercise is repeated 22 times.
Fold your palms into “cups” and cover your closed eyes. Stay in this position until you feel relaxed. Then move your eyes up and down, left and right, and diagonally. Make the last rotational movements clockwise and vice versa.
Repeat each exercise 12 times
Press three fingers into the upper part of the eye socket (where the eyebrow is) and press on it, as if trying to raise, count to 36. Now repeat the same thing, but with the lower part of it. Please note that this exercise has a pronounced restorative effect, often there is a feeling of a surge of strength and energy.
Place your index and middle fingers at the base of the wings of the nose. With sliding movements, we begin to move up the back of the nose, bridge of the nose, eyebrows, go down to the temples and return our fingers to their original position. Then we repeat the circle again, but already slightly above the eyebrows. Continue drawing these circles until you reach the hairline. The cycle is repeated three times.
Place your palms on your temples. Use the base of your thumb to stroke your temples, moving from the corner of your eye. Repeat 16 times.
Place your fingers on your cheeks, placing the tips near your eyes. Gently run your fingers from the middle of your cheeks to your temples, then down to your chin and back to the middle again. Do 8 reps.
Effective for frequent stress, headaches, insomnia, reduce the negative effects of smoking and alcohol, therefore massage is recommended not only for women, but also for men
Place your hands so that your middle and index fingers are above the upper lip, and the ring and little fingers are under the lower lip, and now direct your hands to your temples, as if drawing a smile. And so 22 times.
Taoist massage is not recommended in the following cases:
- in the presence of allergic reactions
- Oncology
- diseases of internal organs (especially in the acute stage)
- skin rashes and pregnancy
