Tantum Rosa is a vaginal solution used to treat intimate infections in women. Therefore, it is used primarily in gynecology, but also in obstetrics. The active substance of Tantum Rosa is benzydamine, which is an indole non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that can be applied topically (in this case vaginally).

Benzydamine shows not only anti-inflammatory properties, but also analgesic, anesthetic and disinfectant properties. The substance is quickly absorbed, reducing pain resulting from the ongoing inflammation in the vagina.

Tantum Rosa vaginal solution is used to treat ailments such as:

1. Inflammation of the vulva and vagina; 
2. Inflammation of the cervix of various origins (eg, mechanical); 
3. Pre- and postoperative prophylaxis; 
4. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy. 

Thanks to the use of Tantum Rosa, symptoms such as:

1. Pain; 
2. Baking; 
3. Itching; 
4. Vaginal discharge; 
5. Redness in the vaginal area. 

Tantum Rosa – composition

In the composition of Tantum Rosa, apart from the benzydamine substance, there are:

1. Benzalkonium chloride; 
2. Disodu edetynian; 
3. Ethanol 96%; 
4. Polysorbate 20; 
5. Attar; 
6. Purified Water. 

Tantum Rosa – package contents

Tantum Rosa comes with a pink pear-shaped bottle. It has a capacity of 140 ml. It includes a white applicator and a pink cap. A package may contain one or five single-use bottles.

After removing from the package, the solution is ready for application. If you want it to be warmer, place the bottle in a container with warm water for a few minutes.

Tantum Rosa – how to apply?

Tantum Rosa vaginal solution should be used according to the doctor’s instructions. The leaflet also lists the recommended doses, which should be as follows:

1. In the case of vaginitis or vulvitis or cervical inflammation – rinsing with Tantum Rosa solution 1-2 times a day for seven days; 
2. In the case of pre- and postoperative prophylaxis – the doctor decides on the daily doses.

As already mentioned, in the Tantum Rosa packaging there is a bottle that must be unscrewed by turning the cap. Then pull out the tip of the applicator.

In order to be able to proceed with the application of the contents into the vagina, the woman should assume a lying or semi-sitting position and then insert the tip of the applicator into the vaginaby slowly squeezing the bottle so that all the contents are poured inside. After applying Tantum Rosa, stay in the selected position for about 5 minutes so that the fluid does not flow out of the vagina.

Precautions should be taken when using Tantum Rosa. This also applies to other medicinal products, the prolonged use of which may lead to an allergic reaction. If the patient notices bleeding from the vaginal discharge ducts, she should immediately stop the treatment and see a gynecologist who will determine the cause of the disturbing symptoms.

Tantum Rosa – contraindications

The main contraindication to the use of Tantum Rosa is hypersensitivity to any substance contained in the solution. It has not been noticed that the use of the drug has any effect on driving.
