Tangerine syrup: 2 recipes at home

Delicious tangerine syrup comes in handy for making a quick refreshing lemonade or smoothie, adding to dessert or a hot drink.

Classic tangerine syrup recipe

Ingredients

  1. Tangerine juice (fresh) – 1 liter

  2. Sugar – 1 kg

  3. Water – 250 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Squeeze tangerine juice in advance, strain and pour into a saucepan.

  2. Pour water into a large saucepan. Put on the stove and heat over low heat, gradually adding sugar.

  3. Cook (without boiling!) until the sugar is completely dissolved and a thick sugar syrup is formed.

  4. Gently, in a thin stream, without splashing on the walls of the pan, pour in the tangerine juice.

  5. Stir the syrup thoroughly with a wooden spoon and bring to a boil.

  6. When the first bubbles appear, reduce the heat and cook for another 5-10 minutes.

  7. Strain the finished syrup through cheesecloth or a fine sieve and bottle.

  8. Seal tightly, cool to room temperature and refrigerate.

Recipe for tangerine syrup with lemon juice

Ingredients

  1. Tangerines – 15 pcs.

  2. Sugars – 250 g

  3. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp l.

Method of preparation

  1. Wash the tangerines, cut in half and squeeze the juice with a citrus juicer, you should get 300 ml. If you want the syrup to be transparent, you need to strain the juice from the tangerines. Leave the peels from 3 tangerines.

  2. Pour the juice into a saucepan, add sugar and put on low heat.

  3. Add tangerine peels and cook, stirring constantly, over low heat for 20-25 minutes.

  4. Tangerine syrup is ready, it remains to pour into a sterile jar and close tightly. Keep refrigerated.
