Take a look at your eyes. These changes are a sign that your body is in poor condition

Changes in the skin, low mood, problems with concentration, loss of energy, or excessive sleepiness are a few symptoms that may suggest that something is wrong with our health. In addition to these alarm symptoms, it is also worth adding the appearance of the eyes, which can tell us much more than we think. Check what your eyes say about your health.

It is often said that we can see the true face of another person in our eyes. Aside from the personality and traits we hold deep within ourselves, our eyes and the parties around them can also alert us to the development of diseases and health problems.

The most common change we see under the eyes is the so-called dark circles known as dark circles under the eyes. Usually they are a sign of exhaustion, sleepless nights, too intensive lifestyle or overwork. Sometimes, however, underestimating the problem and leaving it without testing can contribute to a significant deterioration of health. The bruises under the eyes, apart from lack of sleep, may also indicate anemia (anemia), abnormal thyroid function or food intolerance. And this is just the beginning of what your eyes say about your health.

Is a spot in the eye a cause for concern?

The appearance of a spot in the white of the eye usually causes anxiety. Sometimes the change is accompanied by discomfort in the form of itching, pain or burning. There can be many reasons for this, ranging from harmless factors, such as getting dust or other irritating substances into the eye, ending with serious neoplastic changes.

Cracked blood cells, a yellowish spot, or a dark change in the white of the eye – in such cases, you should always consult a doctor who will check what is the cause of the discoloration.

Changing the color of proteins to yellow – the most common sign of jaundice

A sudden discoloration of the eye proteins to a yellow hue is never a good sign. The most common symptom of jaundice is caused by too much bile pigment – bilirubin. Yellow eyes can be a sign of liver disease, so if you notice the altered color of the proteins you should have blood tests to check for health problems.

A twitching eyelid is a symptom of stress and tension

Stress is one of the greatest enemies of our health. If we want to enjoy impeccable condition – both physical and mental – we must take care of our comfort, well-being and the matters that we deal with every day. Responsible work, a stressful position, a demanding boss, and exorbitant expectations towards each other will contribute to increasing tension and feeling negative emotions that result in health problems. A twitching eyelid can be a sign of fatigue, stress and too little magnesium. Sometimes it’s also a sign of dry eye syndrome.

Bloodshot proteins and watery eyes – what do they say about your health?

Red eyes with bloodshot proteins are often a sign of fatigue and too many hours spent in front of a laptop, TV or smartphone in hand. Tired, irritated eyes can also be a sign of a disease. They most often indicate inflammation of the eyelids, conjunctiva or glaucoma.

More and more people are also complaining about the feeling of teary eyes that makes us see as if through a fog. If the problem of red, bloodshot or watery eyes also applies to you, it is a sign that it is time to take a break from devices that emit blue light – it is the most common cause of these ailments.

Swollen eyelids

Puffed eyelids and swollen eyes are quite common. We observe them after a sleepless night or when an allergic reaction occurs, e.g. as a result of using inappropriate face care products. To get rid of swelling, we often use cold compresses or a cucumber mask, but if swollen eyelids are a common phenomenon, it is worth consulting a specialist. Swollen eyes may indicate:

  1. allergies,
  2. sinusitis,
  3. diabetes
  4. disturbed balance of sodium and potassium,
  5. hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism,
  6. kidney disease
  7. heart arrhythmia.
