Sometimes, however, underestimating the problem and leaving it without testing can contribute to a significant deterioration of health. Is a spot in the eye a cause for concern?
The appearance of a spot in the white of the eye usually causes anxiety. Sometimes the change is accompanied by discomfort in the form of itching, pain or burning. There can be many reasons for this, ranging from harmless factors, such as getting dust or other irritating substances into the eye, ending with serious neoplastic changes.
Cracked blood cells, a yellowish spot, or a dark change in the white of the eye – in such cases, you should always consult a doctor who will check what is the cause of the discoloration.

A sudden discoloration of the eye proteins to a yellow hue is never a good sign. The most common symptom of jaundice is caused by too much bile pigment – bilirubin. Yellow eyes can be a sign of liver disease, so if you notice the altered color of the proteins you should have blood tests to check for health problems.
A twitching eyelid is a symptom of stress and tension
Stress is one of the greatest enemies of our health. If we want to enjoy impeccable condition – both physical and mental – we must take care of our comfort, well-being and the matters that we deal with every day. Responsible work, a stressful position, a demanding boss, and exorbitant expectations towards each other will contribute to increasing tension and feeling negative emotions that result in health problems. Puffed eyelids and swollen eyes are quite common. We observe them after a sleepless night or when an allergic reaction occurs, e.g. as a result of using inappropriate face care products. To get rid of swelling, we often use cold compresses or a cucumber mask, but if swollen eyelids are a common phenomenon, it is worth consulting a specialist. Swollen eyes may indicate:
