Table in the gazebo with your own hands: how to make garden furniture from wood and metal, drawings with dimensions and schemes for assembly

To increase comfort, cottage owners erect a summer gazebo on the site, filling it with a sofa, chairs, etc. Of course, interior elements can be purchased at the store, but furniture made by yourself looks much more original. From the article you will learn how to make a table in the gazebo with your own hands.

Furniture options

According to the type of construction, garden tables are conditionally divided into several groups:

  1. Stationary. This is the type of table that is familiar to most people on four legs with a tabletop. When making a garden version, the product can be equipped with stationary benches on the sides, combining benches and a table into one.
  2. Folding. Their main advantage is compactness. The folding table does not take up much space when assembled, it is easier to carry and unfold when the need arises. The manufacture of such a design requires more skill than the assembly of a traditional stationary model.
  3. Transformers. In these models, the folding design allows you to convert one piece of furniture into another. Having unfolded the table in a special way, it is possible to get a comfortable couch or a spacious bench. Includes many sliding mechanisms that can fail.

The appearance of the models within each group also varies. The master can make a table with a tabletop of the shape that is more suitable for his gazebo:

  • round – look nice and neat, take up more space than traditional rectangular tables;
  • square or rectangular – classic shapes, fit well into any interior, have a larger capacity than round models;
  • hexagonal – are large, because they are designed for large companies, a good solution for roomy oval gazebos.

In addition to appearance, tables are distinguished by the material of manufacture. The most common are wooden. They fit well into the landscape of the suburban area. A metal table is more durable, although heavier. A good choice for gazebos combined with a summer kitchen.

Finally, no one forbids the master to combine both materials. The frame of the table can be made from metal profile pipes, and the tabletop can be made from strong boards.

Do-it-yourself manufacturing

Creating a table made of wood or metal requires the appropriate tools:

  • electric jigsaw;
  • milling cutter;
  • Sander;
  • drill with a set of drills or a screwdriver;
  • sandpaper of different grain sizes.

In addition, do not forget about various impregnating compounds, because the wood of outdoor furniture must be periodically treated so that it does not rot and insects do not start in it.

If you intend to work with metal structures, you will need:

  • hacksaw for metal work;
  • welding equipment;
  • Sander;
  • a hammer;
  • screwdriver;
  • fasteners.

Now it’s time to get acquainted with the different options for creating garden tables with your own hands.

Wooden stationary table

A few words about the selection of material. Since the table is intended for a country gazebo, it is advisable to make it from those types of wood that can withstand wind and high humidity. It is better to choose natural wood, since chipboard is not very durable:

  • pine – due to the high concentration of resins, it has increased resistance to biological corrosion;
  • linden – well resists dampness, but requires enhanced treatment against insects;
  • oak – moisture resistant, does not rot, but is poorly polished;
  • larch – strong and durable, tolerates high humidity and temperature changes.

Consider the main stages of creating a table of the simplest wooden structure – a table top with four legs:

  1. Find a suitable drawing, which indicates the necessary details. The size of the table is selected based on future needs and the area of u80buXNUMXbthe gazebo for which it is intended. The optimal height is XNUMX cm.
  2. For the countertop, prepared boards of the same length are assembled into a single sheet using thin connecting rails. You can fasten with nails or screws.
  3. The rectangular box of the upper harness is made of strong and thick boards, the size of the box should be smaller than the size of the tabletop canvas. The boards are joined end to end.
  4. The legs are made from solid solid timber. They are fixed in the corners of the box with metal corners and self-tapping screws.
  5. For strength, the legs are connected in pairs from below at a small height with slats – stiffeners. Both ribs are fastened with a longitudinal rail.
  6. They put a tabletop on top and fasten it to the box by drilling holes and screwing in the screws.

Folding model

To create a simple version, you will need the following materials:

  • 4 boards 7 cm wide (for legs);
  • wood board for countertops – 120×60 cm;
  • 4 corner loops.

We list the step-by-step steps for mounting a folding table:

  1. The folding parts of the table are marked on the shield – 30 cm on each side. Cut them with a circular saw at an angle of 45 ° to the surface.
  2. The edges of the parts are smoothed with sandpaper.
  3. Attach the side parts to the central hinges, pre-drilling holes for self-tapping screws.
  4. The legs are cut from the boards at an angle of 30 ° and 65 cm long.
  5. The legs are attached to the folding fragments of the tabletop in such a position that they cross during assembly.
  6. Fasten the legs with jumpers for better stability.

The result is a large folding dining table, which, when assembled, turns into a small coffee table.

With metal base

It is most convenient to use a profile pipe in this capacity. You will also need metal corners that are welded into a regular triangle. Another triangle-frame is made from pipes 40 cm long.

Next steps:

  1. Holes are made in the tubular frame for attaching the tabletop.
  2. Profile pipes 75 cm long are bent in any way possible, forming table legs.
  3. The legs are welded to the frame, metal balls are attached to the ends.
  4. The finished tabletop is attached with screws to the iron frame.

All metal parts after assembly are painted with anti-corrosion paint.

With benches

For the manufacture of such a design, you will need a detailed diagram:

  1. Four legs are made of bars 5×10 cm and 95 cm long. It is desirable to fasten them obliquely, so the ends are cut at an angle of 30 °. Both inclined legs are connected by two transverse sidewalls: one is at the top at the same level with the ends, the other is approximately in the middle of their length. The lower sidewall should protrude on both sides by a sufficient amount, bench boards will be attached to it.
  2. The tabletop is assembled separately from boards 5×10 cm and 180 cm long. Attach it to the legs with self-tapping screws.
  3. They strengthen the entire structure from below with corner supports – from the middle of the tabletop to the upper sidewalls of the legs. The supports are pre-cut at an angle of 26 °.
  4. Benches are built from boards of the same length as the countertops. They are fastened in the same way, drilling holes and screwing in screws.

From improvised means

Since people make garden furniture exclusively for themselves, it is not necessary to strive for the perfect look. Instead of traditional building materials – timber, boards, etc. – you can use:

  • logs;
  • lumber left after construction;
  • wooden pallets;
  • large cable spool.

From one long thick log, for example, you can cut benches and build a table. True, you cannot drag such a structure into the gazebo, but it will look good on the lawn of the garden.

Original options

If desired, the table can be equipped with additional features. Having made a recess of sufficient size in the countertop and attaching a drawer from below, you can use it as:

  • storage for ice, in which drinks in bottles, even on a hot day, will keep the desired coolness;
  • flower garden, giving free rein to your florist’s imagination.

As a decoration, you can cover the tabletop with mosaics, assembling it from pieces of colored plexiglass, or assemble a tabletop from boards with caverns, which are then poured with epoxy mixed with fluorescent powder – the table will glow.

It doesn’t matter which table you decide to build for the gazebo – a hexagonal, forged or simple rectangular design – your handiwork will surely please you for many years. The more soul you put into it, the more pleasure you will experience from eating and ordinary “gatherings”.
