Table by the window: a few ideas
Every square meter of a small city apartment wants to be used one hundred percent. And the free space in front of the windowsill in the living room is no exception. What to put here depends on your needs.
- Photo 1, 2. Table legs are two hinged panels, one of which is movable. To fold the table, you need to turn the movable part 180 ° and lower the semicircular tabletop. The bottom of the legs is cut with steps so that when turning the panel, it scratches the floor less.
- Photo 3. The grill plate does not impede the flow of warm air from the radiator. In addition, it combines decorativeness with functionality: it covers part of the battery and does not allow all sorts of little things to fall off the table.
If you work from home, the window seat is the best place for your desktop. But it is important that he does not become too discordant with the rest of the living room setting, inappropriately reminding of work when he wants to rest. Our table is a folding structure equipped with a lattice-shaped board. White was chosen for two reasons. Firstly, it is combined with upholstered furniture and a bookcase next to it. Secondly, the smooth white surface reflects the sun’s rays better, thereby maintaining sufficient insolation in the room.
Book bench
- Photo 1, 2. This country-style bench is made of glued wood panels and painted white. The seat can be made soft if desired, but it is better to use removable cushions with replaceable fabric covers.
- Photo 3. The round holes in the high back are not just for beauty. In winter, when the heating is turned on, they promote better circulation of warm air. For the same reasons, the bench was equipped with curly legs, and not with a solid base on a plinth.
Do you like to gather in one room with the whole family or invite friends? Then put a comfortable bench with a curly back by the window. The dense, saturated red color of the walls does not excite, but, on the contrary, evokes a feeling of comfort and solidity. The predominantly white furniture and textiles balance the color scheme.
“Eating at home”
- Photo 1, 2. It makes sense to hang a height-adjustable lamp above the table. This is convenient, especially if meals tend to drag on until dark.
- Photo 3. The design of the table is pretty simple. It rests not only on forged legs, but is also connected by one end with a lattice panel that covers the heating radiator. Especially for this, a slot is made in the central part of the panel, into which the edge of the table top is inserted.
Choosing a dining room combined with a living room has its advantages. Especially if the family consists of more than two people. And, of course, it is better to place the dining table by the window. As, for example, in this room, which very much resembles the terrace of a country house. Sunlight, slightly muffled by curtains, pours from the window. Wicker chairs are placed around a table with a wrought-iron base. The picture is complemented by country-style accessories: sconces on black forged brackets and a long shelf under the ceiling, lined with “rustic” utensils.
A paradise for flowers
- Photo 1, 2. By design, the table resembles a box on legs equipped with wheels. A rectangular hole in the middle of the table top gives access to the bowels of the “box”. Plastic or ceramic flower pots are placed here.
- Photo 3. Plants are easy to care for. The bottom shelf, on which wicker containers with inventory are placed, adds to the practicality of the table. It is not recommended to pour soil directly onto the bottom of the “box”. Wood is not the most moisture resistant material.
If the window sills are too narrow and the pots with plants do not fit on them, you can get out of the situation with the help of the original console table set to the window. Flowers placed on it, even very tall ones, will not interfere with opening the window. In our interior, this table is designed in the general style and painted white. The color scheme of the room is laconic, but not boring: white furniture against a background of rich yellow walls and textiles. Curtains decorated with stylized tulip appliqués and a sisal mat reinforce the theme of nature.
