The “Table 3” nutritional treatment plan, which belongs to the category of medical sparing diets, is prescribed for people with chronic intestinal diseases. In addition, Diet 3 is very effective for the treatment and prevention of various types of obstruction. Although in the latter case, doctors often prescribe a special diet, specially designed specifically to prevent constipation.

The basis of the diet is made up of foods and dishes that enhance intestinal peristalsis; and vice versa – food that can cause fermentation and putrefaction in the stomach and intestines are strictly excluded from the daily menu.

Tips and bans

Meat, poultry, fish. With the diet of therapeutic food “Table 3”, you should be careful with the choice of meat and fish dishes. You can eat only low-fat varieties, boiled or baked, and no more than 4-5 times a week. Any meat and fish semi-finished products (sausages, ham, sausages, canned food, etc.) are categorically excluded. To saturate the diet with complete and easily digestible protein, you should pay attention to seafood.

Eggs. No more than two pieces a day. Better in the form of a steam omelet or boiled.

Bread and flour. You can: yesterday’s wheat bread made from premium flour without yeast, as well as crackers and biscuits. Unflavored pastries and biscuits are also allowed. The strictest prohibition on any bread and pastries in the preparation of which yeast was used.

Dairy. In the “Table 3” diet, dairy products occupy a key place – you can daily consume milk, fermented milk drinks, cottage cheese of any fat content, yoghurts, sour cream, and cheese.

Vegetables. Preference should be given to beets, carrots, tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchini, cauliflower. The ban applies only to potatoes. It is better to cook vegetables baked or boiled; you can also make all kinds of casseroles.

Cereals. Avoid sticky cereals such as round rice, barley, or oatmeal. And vice versa – crumbly cereals (as a side dish and as a separate dish) are very good for increasing intestinal motility. The daily menu should contain such cereals as buckwheat, millet, wheat and others. You can cook porridge both in water and in milk of any fat content.

Fruit and desserts. Diet “Table 3” for chronic intestinal diseases and constipation involves the use of an increased “dose” of fiber.

One of the richest sources of fiber – fresh fruits and berries, they must be part of the daily diet. You can also eat dried fruits soaked in boiling water. Bananas, grapes, as well as fruits and berries with a pronounced sour taste are prohibited in this category of dishes.

The drinks. First of all, among the permitted drinks, one should highlight tea with milk and herbal teas – for example, tea with fruits and fennel flowers. Also, a broth based on wheat bran acts very favorably on the intestines. In addition, dried apricot and prune compotes are recommended.

Additional prohibitions. To restore normal bowel function from the “Table 3” diet, you should exclude products from yeast dough and puff pastry, soups in the first broth, fast food, sweet soda, kvass, pasta and legumes. Mushrooms are also banned. From drinks, jelly, cocoa, coffee and too strong tea should not be allowed on the menu. Bananas, blueberries, dogwood from banned fruits and berries; from sweet – chocolate, and desserts with custard.

Menu for the day

Eating on the “Table 3” diet should be fractional – 5-6 times a day. An approximate menu for the day may look like this:

  • Breakfast: salad of fresh vegetables with tuna, cottage cheese with honey or jam, weak tea;

  • Lunch: fruit salad (preferably: apples, pears, oranges, cherries, plums, pineapple, etc.);

  • Dinner: seafood soup, omelet with vegetables, dried fruit compote;

  • Afternoon snack: weak tea with dessert – marshmallow, marshmallow, etc .;

  • Dinner: garnish of crumbly buckwheat porridge with butter, baked fish balls; 3 hours before bedtime: a glass of low-fat kefir;

Fresh vegetable salad with tuna

Ingredients: 200 g of boiled tuna meat (it is forbidden to use canned food), cucumbers, tomatoes, arugula, a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp. olive oil, a sprig of dill;

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash the vegetables and cut into thin slices. Salt lightly and leave for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Pre-boil a whole piece of tuna without salt and spices. Then cut it into small pieces and add to the vegetables.

  3. Add arugula, olive oil and dill to the salad. 3 minutes and a wonderful snack is ready!

Omelet with vegetables

Ingredients: 5 eggs, 1,5 cups of cold milk, vegetables of your choice, 30 g butter, 1-2 fresh tomatoes.

Method of preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Vegetables such as potatoes, broccoli, carrots, etc. first you need to cook until half cooked.

  2. In a large bowl, beat eggs (5 whites and no more than 2 yolks) and cold milk. The more actively you beat, the more magnificent the omelet will turn out. Add vegetables to the egg and milk mixture.

  3. Grease a baking dish with butter, pour in the mixture and place in the oven for 7-10 minutes.

  4. Place a few slices of tomatoes on top of the omelet and bake for a couple of minutes.

Cabbage rolls with tomato sauce

Ingredients: 800 g lean ground beef, 200 g carrots, 3-4 large tomatoes, 200 g brown rice, cabbage, tomato paste;

Method of preparation:

  1. Boil in advance, rinse and cool the rice. Finely grate carrots and mix with minced meat and rice.

  2. Dip the head of cabbage in boiling water for 10-15 minutes. As soon as the leaves become soft, remove and cool the vegetable. Separate the leaves one at a time.

  3. Put a little minced meat with rice on each cabbage leaf and wrap it in a neat envelope. Put the cabbage rolls in a pan and fry on both sides in olive oil for just a couple of minutes.

  4. Then add boiled water to a frying pan and simmer cabbage rolls until cooked over medium heat for 20-25 minutes.

  5. For the sauce: finely chop the tomatoes, fry in vegetable oil in a separate skillet, then add tomato paste and a little boiled water to them. To stir thoroughly. Serve cabbage rolls on the table with tomato sauce.
