Briefly about the drink

Grenadines (Grenadines) – This is a thick sweet syrup rich in red.

The name is of French origin from the word grenade – pomegranate. But the city in Spain, Granada, is considered the birthplace of this excellent syrup.

In the original recipe, apart from natural pomegranate juice and sugar syrup, nothing was used, but now grenadine is made from all kinds of berries, preferably red, and even syrups with an artificial composition are produced.

The history of liquor begins in 1825. A certain James Philips back in 1739 was the most famous wine merchant in Bristol.

In 1804, a liquor company hired him as chief accountant, and over time, James became their partner.

In 1825 he bought the company from his partner, now known as JR Phillips. And together with his sons William and August, he released a unique line of liqueurs – Old English cordials with various flavors of Pink cloves, Lovage, White Peppermint, Green Peppermint, Aniseed, Shrub and the brightest representative is Grenadine liqueur.

Liqueurs from this series were considered medicinal, as they included herbs, roots and spices.
