Symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD)
Symptoms are both obsessions and compulsions, the latter being produced in response to the obsessions.
obsessions
These obsessions are repeated, overwhelming and persistent.
- Fear of germs, germs, contamination;
- Intense stress if an object is out of place;
- Fear of losing something or of closing a door improperly;
- Fear of injuring someone, in a traffic accident for example;
- Sexual images or thoughts.
Compulsions
People with OCD, to prevent or reduce anxiety related to their obsessions, can set up rituals and perform repetitive tasks such as:
- Do housework ;
- Ranger ;
- Wash your hands all day;
- Check and recheck that a door or faucet is closed;
- Repeat a word, a sentence;
- To count ;
- Accumulate objects of no particular value (prospectuses, waste);
- Respect order and symmetry.
