Symptoms of chronic bronchitis and emphysema (COPD)

Chronic bronchitis

  • A fatty cough accentuated upon getting up and going to bed, commonly referred to as “smoker’s cough”. Changing position causes secretions to move, which stimulates coughing;
  • Sputum of whitish mucus ;
  • Sometimes vomiting to dizziness, caused by cough;
  • Frequent respiratory infections. At this point, the mucus becomes yellowish or greenish;
  • At an advanced stage of the disease, a breathless, swelling of the legs and blueness of the skin and lips.

Emphysema

  • Un breathless and a feeling ofbreathlessness which gradually gets worse;
  • A wheezing ;
  • A feeling ofoppression in the chest;
  • Un emaciation important.
