Symptoms and risk factors for presbyopia

Symptoms of the disease

The symptoms of presbyopia are as follows:

  • Difficulty reading, need to move your book away to see clearly
  • Blurred vision up close
  • Headaches
  • Eye strain

Risk factors

L’age is the main risk factor for developing presbyopia. It is indeed over the years that the lens becomes rigid and no longer plays its role.

There are certain forms of precocious presbyopia, which start before the age of 40. These cases are often due to the taking of drugs or the appearance of certain diseases. Thus diabetes or certain cardiovascular diseases increase the risk of developing early presbyopia.
