Swollen legs: what to do

Are you completely healthy (no chronic diseases), but by the end of the working day you can hardly move your heavy legs? This is a signal: we need competent prevention. Try to remember these simple rules, and your legs will swell much less!

– drink no more than 1,5-2 liters of liquid per day (mineral water is healthier than usual, since mineral salts are removed with sweat);

– wear only comfortable shoes with a heel height of 4-5 cm. They are less traumatic than flat-soled shoes;

– if the work is sedentary, periodically do a warm-up – walk, swing from heel to toe. Do not sit cross-legged, this constricts blood vessels;

– regularly train your legs: walk on toes and heels alternately, on the outer and inner edges of the foot, transfer small objects or pebbles with your toes from one pile to another, roll rubber hedgehogs (sold in a pharmacy), stand on a rug with spikes. All this improves blood circulation;

– take a walk every day for an hour and a half. If it’s hard to walk for a long time, we take fractional air baths. And certainly not under the scorching sun;

– ride a bicycle or exercise on an exercise bike. Such exercises provoke the work of the calf muscles and thighs, thereby contributing to the outflow of blood;

– brew herbal teas of light natural diuretics (horse chestnut, horsetail, wild rose). Phyto-pharmacies sell special fees. In no case should you take diuretic medications without a doctor’s prescription, this leads to irreversible consequences;

– lean on currants and cherries (if there is no individual intolerance). They have a diuretic effect. There are more green vegetables;

– do not sit on a protein-free diet for a long time. Lack of protein in the body causes swelling. The protein intake rate for a healthy person is 60-80 g per day;

– limit the use of table salt. It is advisable to introduce sea salt instead of it in everyday life. In it, part of the sodium is replaced by magnesium, and the liquid is not so retained in the body;

– take multivitamins with trace elements – calcium, magnesium, iodine, selenium, etc.;

– daily use gels and creams with a cooling effect (contain menthol oil, aloe, lavender extract).
