Description of sweet cherry “Bryansk pink”

Cherry “Bryanskaya rozovaya” is absolutely self-fruitless, without the help of neighbors, pollinators, it will not yield a harvest. She cannot pollinate from cherries – she only needs cherries. But she herself can be a pollinator for some cherry varieties. It is important that the trees have the same flowering time.

Cherry “Bryanskaya rozovaya” has red-orange fruits

The pink cherry variety has its own distinctive features:

  • The trees are not very tall, up to 3 m, which makes it easy to harvest.
  • Fruits are pink, large, juicy, sweet, do not crack, transportable.
  • The pulp and juice of the fruit are yellow, which is why this cherry is sometimes referred to as yellow varieties.
  • The variety blooms late and yields.

The variety is winter-hardy, able to withstand very low temperatures, up to -30 degrees. Flower buds are not afraid of frost – they can withstand temperatures down to -27, so the tree is suitable for northern regions.

Growing and caring for the variety “Bryanskaya rozovaya”

The plant has a number of requirements for normal growth and fruiting:

  • Does not tolerate shading. It grows well in sunny places and stretches if it is shaded by buildings.
  • Dislikes heavy clay and swampy soils, peat bogs. It develops well on neutral soils and gives a trial harvest in the third year.
  • He does not like drafts and strong winds, planting in an open field has a negative effect on productivity.
  • It is not recommended to plant cherries near buildings, even on the south side. The tree has a very powerful root system, after a few years the roots will begin to destroy the foundation.

Particular attention should be paid to the choice of a seedling.

It is necessary to purchase planting material in proven farms and in the region where the tree will then grow. Seedlings from the southern regions in the northern regions do not take root, they die regardless of the variety

Sweet cherries do not require special care. In the spring, it is necessary to clean up the tree from frozen branches and whiten the trunk. Branches can become a source of disease, and lime will protect the tree from sunburn. In summer, it is better to pinch young shoots, they grow very actively and may not have time to ripen. In places where there is severe frost, it is recommended to cover the tree for the winter.

The variety “Bryanskaya rozovaya” takes root well in any conditions. Therefore, it has become popular everywhere and is grown in many regions of Russia.
