Brushwood is a favorite pastry of many. This is a type of cookie, very tasty and crumbly, which is fried in a deep fryer or dish with a lot of ghee or vegetable oil. There are many recipes for brushwood, you can choose to taste.

Brushwood: a classic recipe

How to make brushwood according to the classic recipe

To prepare brushwood according to the classic recipe, you will need:

– 2,5 cups flour; – 3 egg yolks; – 1 tbsp. l. granulated sugar; – 2 tbsp. cognac; – 1 tbsp. sour cream; – ¼ tsp salt; – ½ glass of milk; – 1 glass of ghee or vegetable oil for frying.

Combine milk, sour cream, egg yolks, granulated sugar, salt and brandy. Then gradually add flour in small portions and knead the dough.

Roll out the resulting dough into a thin layer and cut into narrow strips about 10-12 centimeters long. Having cut the entire layer into strips, weave them, connecting 2-3 strips together. To keep the ends of the intertwined strips, brush them lightly with protein.

You can also make brushwood in another way: in the form of roses. To do this, cut circles from a layer of different sizes, put one on top of the other, press down the middle well, and make cuts along the edges of the circles.

The oil for making brushwood must be heated until small bubbles appear. After that, you can dip brushwood in a bowl with oil. It is necessary to fry it on both sides – for 1-2 minutes on each

– 100 grams of sour cream; – 1 egg; – 2-3 glasses of flour; – salt; – vegetable oil; – icing sugar.

Knead a thick dough of sour cream, eggs and wheat flour, add salt to taste. Then roll out a thin layer of the resulting dough. It should be as thick as homemade noodles. Cut it into strips. In the middle of each of the strips, make a longitudinal cut all the way through, but do not cut the edges all the way.

While gently bending the strip, insert one end of the strip into the slot and pull it straight to straighten the strip. In this case, the parts of the strip divided by the cut will twist and volumetric figured products will be formed.

Fry the cooked brushwood in a lot of vegetable oil. Throw in a colander to allow the oil to glass. Then put the finished baked goods on a dish and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
