“Fitness is a very important part of my life,” says Wolff. “Because if I’m not strong enough, I won’t be able to drive. During the race, the load on the neck and shoulders reaches 30 kilograms. It sounds strange, but true: you need muscles to drive.
Usually, the training becomes more intense about 6 weeks before the start of the competition. We pay the most attention, respectively, to the condition of the shoulders and neck. And on the day of the race, I only do a warm-up warm-up, because I don’t want to get behind the wheel without strength.
I never train without music – it gives energy. But I’m lucky in the sense that fitness isn’t just for looking good. This is part of my job. If I don’t train, someone else does it, and he will be the best on the track. Here’s my motivation.
As for nutrition, this is such a popular topic nowadays! I, again, look at it a little differently. I don’t care about the numbers, how much I weigh. I have to be strong and energetic. If you put diesel in a gasoline engine, you ruin the car. So it is with our body. When I have to spend 9 hours on a racing simulator, I cannot eat fast food.
During the race, I burn about 2000 calories and lose 2-3 kilograms. When I tell my friends about this, they are jealous (laughs). But in fact, everything comes back as soon as you start drinking water. These kilograms are just fluid loss.
