The largest international competition for professional chefs and chefs making sushi

El Global Sushi Challenge of this year 2015, is the gastronomic event that brings together the most intrepid sushi makers from around the world, in order to demonstrate their skills in creating this particular Japanese culinary culture.

Currently, globalization has not done more than popularize thousands of cultures and traditions, and in the case of the Japanese culinary art of making fish and rice, it has made the sushi in a world-wide accepted and worked technique.

Cooks and chefs from all over the world will be able to win the award of being recognized as the best rice marinades with vinegar, sugar, salt and the main complement ingredients such as vegetables o fish.

The Global Event is an initiative of the  World Sushi Skills Institute (WSSI), and is sponsored by the brand of processed fish NORWAY, and it will be necessary to present by the participants to validate their accreditation a traditional sushi dish (Edo Mae), another original dish and an original sushi recipe with Norwegian salmon.

Over the course of several months, the different monographs will be held on the five continents, the US, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan or Indonesia, they will precede the European sessions that from September will be held in Germany, Poland, Portugal, England and Spain.

A whole multidisciplinary journey full of innovations of miniatures of Nigiri sushi, Gunkan sushi o Maki sushi, which will be given by the participants of the Grand Final on November 25 in Tokyo.

How to participate in the Global Sushi Challenge in Madrid?

  • Ten classified will be those who compete on the last day of the final stages of our country
  • Only one will be chosen to represent Spain in the Grand Final in Tokyo.

The professional Jury of the event, will move to each venue, two Sushi Masters from the World Sushi Skills Institute (WSSI), to deliberate who is the best representative of the gastronomic culture of the “Yoro Code“.
