The Supra microwave oven is made by the Japanese company of the same name. The popularity of the brand is based on traditionally high quality, on a flexible pricing policy. Functionality, reliability, reasonable price are the main signs of any Supra microwave oven. Is it worth the rave reviews, we’ll figure it out in the article.

About Us

The history of the Japanese company Supra dates back to 1974. The first products are car radios. Since the Japanese market was already filled with all sorts of electronic and household appliances, the newcomers decided to bet on lower prices with high quality products. Today, the company produces over 10 different models, including many microwaves.

The company has been known in Russia since 1991. Moreover, in 2011 the brand was awarded the prestigious Mark No. 1 award.

Supra solo stoves

This is a budget version of microwaves with a minimum of functions. They are only capable of heating, defrosting and cooking simple dishes – but this is exactly what is required from a microwave oven. In all other possibilities, many do not need.

Features of solo microwaves

They are compact and powerful at the same time – the level is adjustable. Another plus of solo versions is that they are inexpensive due to limited functionality. Similar models are produced by all manufacturers, Supra is no exception. All models of the Japanese brand have:

  • rotating pallet;
  • the camera is illuminated;
  • there is a timer;
  • time/power controller.

The more advanced ones have a time relay with which it is possible to set the duration of the process with high accuracy. There is also a quick start and a display showing useful information.

How to choose a solo

If you don’t want to overpay for features, decide which ones are useless to you. Then you should choose according to certain criteria:

  • Chamber volume. For 2-3 people, 17 or 20 liters is enough, for a large family – 20 liters or more. There are no solo stoves over 25 liters.
  • Power. It depends on the rate of heating. Range – 0,6-1,5 kW. The number of levels is up to 10.
  • Control method – mechanical or electronic. The first option is easier and cheaper. The second one has more features, you can set a large number of parameters.
  • Internal coating: bioceramics, stainless steel, enamel. The latter is more vulnerable to external influences than others.

MWS-2107 TW

Calculated for the average size of the dishes. Brief description of parameters:

  • Capacity – 21 liters.
  • Works for heating and defrosting; auto mode.
  • The coating of the chamber is ceramic enamel.
  • Power – 0,7 kW.
  • 6 levels of adjustment.
  • “Automenu” for 8 recipes.
  • Timer.
  • Illuminated chamber.
  • Child protection.
  • Display.

The compact stove will fit in the cramped kitchen, white color and classic design make it versatile.

Disadvantages:

  • you can not make your recipe in memory;
  • program cooking;
  • automatically maintain the desired temperature.

Supra presents two more solo microwaves with similar parameters: MWS-2103MS and MWS-2103SW. The absence of a grill and convection can be considered a minus, but if the stove was taken solely for the sake of heating and defrosting, then there is nothing to regret.

Of the three models, only one – MWS-2103MS – has a mechanical control type, so the price is lower. It also does not provide auto modes for heating and defrosting. MWS-2103SW has a control panel with a sensor, MWS-2107TW has buttons. There are no other differences between the three models.

Leader or outsider?

Supra microwaves are noticeably inferior in popularity to the leaders. The domestic consumer prefers BBK, LG, Mystery, Panasonic, Samsung and Siemens microwave ovens. In the demand rating, the Japanese brand took an honorable seventh place – is it a victory or a loss?

Supra is inferior to the leaders, but ahead of most competitors, among which there are also powerful manufacturers. Undoubtedly, the Japanese brand deserves attention: quality, functionality and affordable price cannot but intrigue buyers looking for a budget microwave.

What are the problems

The most common failure is the oven refuses to heat. If we exclude a factory marriage, we can assume the following reasons:

  • Low voltage. If less than 220 V is supplied, the stove will lose power.
  • The door latches are broken, the switch is faulty. Since the device is designed so that the waves do not penetrate outside, it will not work if the door is not tightly open.
  • The fuse has blown – high-voltage, fusible, transformer. To change any of them, you need to open the back panel.
  • Doubler broken. This element breaks only when the capacitor and diode are not working.
  • Transformer defective. Voltage is not being supplied to the control panel.

Reviews

MWS-1834TW: Valery O., Novgorod

We bought for a summer residence, so we were looking for a cheaper one. It turned out to be easy to manage, stylish look. The volume is right too. Didn’t like the noise, but that’s a small minus. In 2015, they paid 3 rubles. Classic buttons are better than regular buttons that require a lot of pressure.

MWS-2133SB: Alina Z., Surgut

It looks beautiful, good assembly, roomy, worked flawlessly. True, the heating turned on with a delay. Broke right after the warranty expired. The sound signal is repulsive. Repair is pointless. The stove costs 3 rubles, and the magnetron itself costs 000. I won’t buy Supra again.

Supra has everything that a domestic buyer appreciates: Japanese quality, innovative technologies, functionality, adaptation to the needs of Russians and, most importantly, reasonable prices. A wide variety of models presented allows each buyer to find the option of the desired volume, power and functionality.
