Suplemag B6 – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Suplemag B6 is used in states of magnesium deficiency (stress, irritability, night calf cramps, pregnancy and breastfeeding, improper diet, long-term use of diuretics) and as part of complementary treatment in heart and blood vessel diseases, ischemic heart disease, diabetes, hyperfunction parathyroid and thyroid gland and alcoholism.

Suplemag B6 is a combined preparation containing vitamins and minerals.

Suplemag B6 – indications and dosage

Suplemag B6 is a drug recommended in states of magnesium deficiency:

  1. stress,
  2. irritability,
  3. night cramps of the calves,
  4. pregnancy and breastfeeding,
  5. inadequate diet,
  6. long-term use of diuretics,

and as adjuvant treatment in:

  1. diseases of the heart and blood vessels,
  2. ischemic heart disease,
  3. diabetes
  4. hyperparathyroidism and thyroid gland,
  5. alcoholism.

Dosage

Suplemag B6 is in the form of capsules to be taken orally. Do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug.

  1. Adults. Up to 4 caps / day,
  2. Kids. 5.-11. rż. 1 kaps./d,
  3. Kids. 12-17. rż. 2 caps./d.

Suplemag B6 and contraindications

Contraindication to the use of Suplemag B6 are:

  1. allergy to any component of the preparation,
  2. severe kidney failure,
  3. myasthenia gravis,
  4. hypermagnesemia,
  5. B6 hypervitaminosis,
  6. atrioventricular block,
  7. parkinsonism treated with levodopa without a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor,
  8. severe arterial hypotension,
  9. gastrointestinal absorption disorders,
  10. acute or chronic diarrhea.

Suplemag B6 – warnings

  1. Caution should be exercised in patients with impaired renal function taking digitalis glycosides.
  2. Severe renal failure is a contraindication to the use of Suplemag B6.
  3. During long-term use of the drug, the levels of magnesium and potassium in the blood should be monitored.
  4. Suplemag B6 contains lactose, therefore patients with hereditary disorders of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose-galactose should not use the preparation.
  5. Caution should be exercised when taking oral anticoagulants, compounds of iron, calcium, and fluoride.
  6. When using tetracyclines, leave at least a 3-hour interval between taking the preparations.
  7. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the drug. There are insufficient data on the safety of the drug.

Suplemag B6 and other substances

  1. Aminoglycosides, diuretics (e.g. furosemide), mineralocorticosteroids, cisplatin, amphotericin B increase the excretion of magnesium in the urine.
  2. Suplemag B6 reduces the absorption of tetracyclines, iron compounds, fluoride and oral anticoagulants (coumarin derivatives).
  3. Too high doses of calcium compounds and phosphates reduce the absorption of magnesium.

Suplemag B6 – side effects

While taking Suplemag B6, gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea and nausea may occasionally occur.
