Arthritis is a condition that makes it difficult to move around on a daily basis. In the case of the disease, preparations help make the joints more flexible and support the production of fluid. One such drug is Suplastyn. Please read the leaflet before using it.

Suplastyn one shot – indications

Suplastyn is a solution intended for intra-articular injections. It is used in rheumatology, orthopedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system. Suplastin is recommended for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis. Several joints can be treated during the treatment.

Suplastin works by:

  1. improving the mobility of the joint,
  2. support for the reconstruction of joints,
  3. reducing pain during degenerative disease,
  4. improvement of depreciation functions,
  5. delay or even suspension of the process of articular cartilage degeneration,
  6. increasing the level of lubricants,
  7. improvement of flexibility and viscosity of the synovial fluid.

Suplastyn – composition

One Suplustan ampoule contains:

  1. sterile sodium hyaluronate solution (60 mg), i.e. hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of the synovial fluid and is necessary to maintain the physiological environment of the joints,
  2. auxiliary substances for volume.

Suplastyn – dosage and method of application

The doses of Suplastin and the frequency of its administration are determined by the doctor who carries out the treatment according to the individual needs of the patient. The preparation should be administered intra-articular, using the syringe included in the package. Suplastyn application should be performed by a competent person – a doctor or nurse.

The dose of Suplastyn depends on the size of the joint to be treated. The basic recommendation of the manufacturer is to use up to 2 ml of the drug once a week. How long should you use Suplastyn? For approximately 3 weeks, and even 6 weeks if necessary.

You should refrain from using the preparation with tools that are sterilized with quaternary ammonium salts solutions.

Suplastyin – contraindications

Situations in which you should refrain from taking Suplastyn and contact your doctor include:

  1. hypersensitivity to the drug components, including hyaluronic acid,
  2. pregnancy, suspected pregnancy or breastfeeding,
  3. joint irritation or inflammation.

Suplastyin – side effects

Side effects during treatment that make you stop taking Suplastyn include:

  1. transient, short pain in the joints after application,
  2. reactions such as feeling hot, swollen or red
  3. sometimes stronger local reactions and fever appear.

Suplastyn – cena

Suplastyn is available in pharmacies without a prescription. The 20 mg / 2 ml pack contains a syringe. The set costs about PLN 80.

Suplastyin – remarks

Suplastyn is intended for single use. The used syringe should be discarded, even if the preparation is partially injected. Failure to follow these instructions and use of the syringe again may lead to contamination or cross-contamination in the patient.

Store the Suplastin packaging as instructed by the president:

  1. in a place out of the reach of children,
  2. in a dry environment, at a temperature of 4-25 degrees C,
  3. Suplastyn must not be frozen.
