When there is a persistent feeling that you look unimportant and the skin has lost its luster and radiance, peeling comes to the rescue – the easiest and most effective way to bring your face to life. We tell you everything you need to know about surface peeling.
What is superficial peeling
Peeling’s main responsibilities include:
exfoliation of dead cells;
smoothing wrinkles;
reduction in pigmentation.
Determine what cosmetics you need right now with our test.
Mechanism of action
During superficial peeling, the bonds between dead cells are dissolved under the influence of acids. Since this process is quite traumatic for the skin, it simultaneously receives a signal to renew itself. This explains the peeling after any peeling.
Показания
Peeling evens out skin tone and improves its appearance.
Peeling is one of the favorite procedures of cosmetologists. Even in the most advanced cases, you can bring the skin into good condition. The effect is especially obvious when it is necessary:
even out tone and texture;
smooth or completely erase superficial wrinkles;
lighten pigmented areas;
minimize the visibility of pores;
reduce traces of post-acne;
prepare the epidermis for a more serious cosmetic intervention.
Efficiency
The effect of any peeling is impossible not to notice.
Varieties of surface peeling
In the matter of the impact strategy, you should trust the beautician. Choosing one or another method, he takes into account not only the condition of the skin at the moment, but also:
type of seboregulation;
sensitivity;
age.
The following types of surface peeling are distinguished:
mechanical;
hardware;
chemical.
Let’s take a closer look at each type below.
Mechanical
The simplest type of peeling. Such peeling is a scrub or exfoliating cream with abrasive particles.
Hardware
If you are a frequent visitor to a cosmetologist, then you probably know that hardware techniques are becoming more and more popular. Such procedures are carried out in courses, but it all depends on the severity of the problem. Sometimes one session is enough, and sometimes the matter is not limited to five.
Chemical
One of the classic types of peeling for smoothing the skin relief, reducing the size of pores, lightening pigmented areas, giving freshness to the face. The most commonly used acids are:
dairy;
almond;
gluconolactone;
lactobionic;
magnesium ascorbyl phosphate;
ascorbic;
ferulic;
phytin.
Stages of superficial chemical peeling
During the peeling, it is worth following the protocol of the procedure. If you are in the salon, then there will be four stages.
The peeling procedure is carried out according to a specific protocol.
Preparatory
The skin is thoroughly cleansed of make-up residues: the beautician removes make-up with cotton pads, then applies a cleanser, then a tonic solution that restores the pH of the skin.
Primary
A solution of acids is applied to well-cleansed skin with a brush. During exposure, tingling or tingling of the skin may be felt. Do not be afraid, this is how acids begin to work.
Neutralizing
After the set time, a neutralizing solution is applied to the skin, which normalizes the pH of the skin and helps restore the protective barrier.
Final
At the end of the procedure, a good moisturizer is needed, preferably with a high SPF factor. If it happens in the evening (this is the most optimal time for peeling) – a night cream.

Safety measures
Like any procedure, peeling has a number of contraindications. Here are the cases when peeling is not worth doing:
allergy or sensitivity to any of the peeling components;
active inflammation on the skin;
herpes in the acute stage;
wounds or cuts in the area to be peeled;
pregnancy and lactation;
neoplasms and warts;
rest at sea after peeling.
Beautician advice
Elena Eliseeva, Vichy brand expertshares his recommendations.
Moisturize your skin thoroughly between treatments.
Products based on thermal water, hyaluronic acid, vitamins B5 and B3 will help reduce discomfort after the procedure.
Avoid oily textures and greasy creams in an attempt to reduce peeling: this will negate the effect of the procedure.
Before every step outside (even if the weather is overcast and generally winter), it is necessary to apply sunscreen with SPF 50+: this is the only way to prevent pigmentation.
It is better to wash with micellar lotions, avoiding fatty milk and tap water. The first can clog open pores and “glue” back exfoliating keratinocytes, and the second, especially with an old plumbing, can greatly dry out already dehydrated tissues.
Do not try to peel off the flaky skin (even if it comes off in layers and the hands themselves reach out to pick off the scales) and do not use scrubs: since the epidermis is thinned and injured, abrasions can be achieved.
