Children, just like adults, face difficulties returning from vacation. Of course, their main vacation is the summer holidays. And after long and bright vacation days, the guys are eager to run to school on September 1 to meet good friends and comrades, to exchange impressions, to show themselves matured and mature, and to marvel at classmates.

But already on the second of September, problems begin. I would like to continue the celebration of life, but we need to radically reorganize ourselves into the gray everyday life of endless lessons, homework, community work.

So how do you get the student back into the rhythm of their business life?

Excuse me, but who said that the holidays are endless wallowing on the couch in front of the TV, playing computer games until midnight or swimming until you are blue in the surrounding water?

No, dear parents. You completely misunderstand the wonderful word «holidays». Holidays are just a proportional change in student workload and activity by interest. If during training days most of the time is devoted to the training itself and only a few hours are devoted to positive rest, then it is on vacation days that most of the time should be devoted to favorite activities. But throwing books to hell is not worth it!

In order for the return to school not to be painful and even pleasant, it would be necessary to follow some recommendations, the implementation of which will allow the child to have a great rest and not lose the “work” habits developed during the school year.

Sleeping mode

Sleep mode should not be violated even in the carefree summer time. Remember that it is not possible to get enough sleep for the future, and it will not work to sleep off for «lack of sleep» during school days. 8-10 hours are enough for a full recovery of strength.

The big mistake of parents is that they «suddenly» allow their child to sit at the computer monitor, right up to the morning dawn, they say, it’s vacation. And tomorrow they are allowed to lie in bed until noon and longer, they say, let them rest before studying.

It is the night vigil that will not allow the child to rest, but on the contrary, it will drain all the energy out of him and he will return to school tired of rest, which will undoubtedly affect his academic performance and active life.

Training program

This is only at first glance a catchphrase: “We were not asked anything!”, It has a truthful character. They asked, how they asked!

At the end of the school year, teachers probably did their best with their summer homework: reading books, collecting herbarium, solving problems in entertaining mathematics, essays on historical places, TRP norms, geographical photo sketches and other creative and educational tasks. But for some reason, it is these most important and most interesting «homework» that are left without attention, both by the students themselves and their parents, and are perceived as optional.

It’s not bad to pull up math a little, remember the rules of the Russian language, and learn English.

Brains, like muscles, wither without exercise, and, therefore, the resumption of training and pumping brain activity will cause not only a negative perception of the educational material, but also physical ailment. And this state will continue until the training “training” enters the usual rhythm of student everyday life.

Household chores and social work

Dear parents, no one has canceled household chores! Ordinary children’s household chores should not be written off, on the contrary, additional tasks can be assigned to the child, since he has plenty of free time and helping parents is an important component of raising the younger generation.

By the way, if during the school year the student was responsible for the Living Corner or the Winter Garden, then forgetting about animals and plants is completely unacceptable. These wards, they are alive and even in summer they need constant caring care.

Movement and outdoor activities

Be sure to push the child to outdoor games, active walks, sports and not only as a fan, but also a participant. To do this, it is the parents who must, I emphasize, must, by personal example and even some degree of coercion, force the child to lead an active lifestyle.

Of course, it is easier to leave the decision about one’s own pastime at the mercy of the child himself, but this experiment with the choice will end in tears.

The choice of the child must be accompanied by small parental tricks and pedagogical wisdom. It is necessary to make sure that the child, under the strict control of the parents, chooses exactly what the parents consider necessary, and not what will fall out randomly “heads and tails”.

Summer activity is the key to the success of the upcoming academic year. By all means, but by diplomatic means, reduce passive rest.

It would be great if the vacation time of the children coincided with the vacation of the parents. Then rest in the countryside, on the southern sea coast, in overseas countries, but anywhere, if only away from TVs and monitors, away from video views and computer games.

Communication between children and parents in a close family circle will bring maximum benefit to both the child and the whole family as a whole.

Soon to school

Summer will fly by. But for the last few August days, the mode of being a student should be somewhat tougher. No excuses, everything is on time: sleep, household chores, walks and more time for summer homework.

Then the first of September day without stress for the body and smoothly flow into school everyday life. After a competent rest, of course, your student may not be an excellent student, but he must be a good one!
