Summer foot care

Corns

Summer problem number one, poisoning the beauty of long walks. Rubbing shoes, sandals, ballet flats … Continuous torment! There can be a lot of reasons – and an uncomfortable last, and too delicate skin, and heat, and sweat … Therefore, a comprehensive approach is required here.

1. No fanaticism… Having bought a new pair of shoes, especially open ones, with straps-fasteners, you should not immediately arrange for her a long “walk”. Even if you want everyone around you to die looking at your “Manolo Blahnik” from the latest collection. At first, limit yourself to short test walks, checking: not pressing? do not rub? but where exactly? If you know in advance that your legs are “problematic”, use shoe stretchers, gel pads and orthopedic insoles that redistribute the load on the foot.

2. Prevention… Have a callus stick with you. They are sold in pharmacies. It’s easy to use them – before putting on your shoes, smear the places you have a chance to rub. Instead of a stick, you can use protective creams from the series “for tired feet” – with them you slip an eel into your new shoes and you can walk as long as you like without feeling uncomfortable.

3. First aid… If your feet are still rubbed, patches for wet calluses will help. The most comfortable ones are silicone: they hold well, protect from pressure, transparent. In a word, “ask the city pharmacies”!

4. Care… If the corns are wet, the main thing is not to pierce the bubble: an infection can seep through the wound into the body. If the calluses are dry, softening baths with baking soda and pumice will help. Callus creams with castor oil and urea work well. For very dry skin it is better to use a cream with fruit acids.

Heels

They dry, coarse, crack – and require thoughtful multi-step care. It is time consuming, but what a beauty in the end! We repeat the following algorithm at least twice a week.

1. Bath first with salt, starch or oil of lemon, lavender, tea tree. Softens and steams the skin.

2. Then Cleansing – with a pumice stone or a pedicure brush. You can use a scrub once a week.

3. Cold and hot showerto improve blood flow and relieve tension.

4. Softening and moisturizing… Spread cream on your feet, socks on top – and sleep. By morning, your heels will be soft and silky.

Sweating

As Ksenia Sobchak rightly warns, think carefully when putting on boots in the heat – and think twice before taking them off in decent society.

Indeed, a graceful young lady strolling along the embankment and a conscript who prints a step on the parade ground differ little in terms of sweaty feet. Both, along with sweat, release nitrogenous substances and fatty acids, which are quickly oxidized, creating an excellent feeder for bacteria. And bacteria in the process of life and produce that very amber. The young lady’s advantage is that she can neutralize this business. In this way:

1. Warm foot baths in the morning and in the evening with chamomile and sage.

2. Talc, with which you can sprinkle your feet (after wiping it thoroughly!) after your morning shower.

3. Deodorants and antiperspirants… The former mask an unpleasant spirit, the latter inhibit sweating, thereby preventing the appearance of odor in general.

4. Salicylic acid and menthol creams… They dry the skin, have antibacterial properties, and refresh the skin.

Edema

They torment many, especially in the evening in the heat. Any swelling means that it’s time to talk to doctors: you need to find out if there are problems with the heart and kidneys, liver and veins, if the lymphatic system is not functioning properly. The examination will show what and how to treat. In parallel, you will have to:

1. Change your stiletto heels to comfortable shoes with a low (3-5 cm) heel. I don’t want to, but I have to.

2. Twice a day rinse your feet with a sea salt solution (1 teaspoon per glass).

3. Late in the evening less to drink.

4. To be more modest with alcohol, sugar and salt – they also retain water in the body.

5. Don’t sit with me all day, albeit in the office. The more you sit, the steeper the swelling! Every hour there is a warm-up: run to lunch, have tea with colleagues, run to a nearby ATM – you know better why you should leave the table.

6. In the evening, after the cooling bath, lie down on the sofa and for ten minutes throw your feet up on the wallafter lightly massaging them with a plant-based cream or gel.

Fatigue

There are so many interesting things in summer life that in the late afternoon, it happens that your legs are buzzing with fatigue. Rescue from restless legs syndrome:

1. Ginkgo biloba creams and gels (improve blood circulation), witch hazel (give a feeling of lightness) camphor (anesthetize).

2. Cooling gels and sprays… As a rule, they contain menthol, which cools and refreshes. It is enough just to spray the feet with the spray, and the gel needs to be rubbed into the calves and shins too.
