- nausea and vomiting
- dizziness,
- blurred vision,
- redness or pale face
- general weakness
- bow.
Their differentiating significance is small; they can appear in both migraine and in a hemorrhage or brain tumor. Only the result of a thorough general examination (including body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure) and neurological examination (meningeal symptoms, focal symptoms, etc.) is significant in determining the cause. In some patients, only additional tests play a decisive role, such as:
- computed tomography of the head,
- examination of the cerebrospinal fluid (collected by means of a lumbar puncture – lumbar puncture).
The degree of danger that may result from a suddenly appearing headache, and the diagnostic difficulties it may cause, mean that each case of such pain should be examined by an experienced physician. The exceptions are pains that repeat cyclically and are similar in intensity and accompanying symptoms, previously clearly identified as migraine or other spontaneous headache.
