Only now did the Lower Silesian prosecutor’s office reveal the final cause of death for the man. It turns out that it was “suffocation caused by the obstruction of the respiratory tract with food.”

The death of a 39-year-old anaesthesiologist from a hospital in Wałbrzych was widely echoed throughout Poland. In August this year. the man died suddenly in his home, previously he had been resuscitated for several dozen minutes. Initial postmortem examination results did not reveal what could have been the cause of death. One of the threads investigated by the Lower Silesian prosecutor’s office was the suspicion of overworking with a doctor.
The anaesthesiologist was supposed to work almost 100 hours a week, i.e. more than twice as much as provided for by the law. This is one of the reasons why the prosecution also dealt with the documents related to the doctor’s duty hours. Other employees of the hospital in Wałbrzych emphasized that the situation of the facility was “dramatic” due to serious staff shortages.

The Wałbrzych Nasz Miasto website informs about the latest findings of the Lower Silesian prosecutor’s office. Ultimately, the death of a doctor was classified as a death due to natural causes, and not due to overwork.
«The District Prosecutor’s Office in Wałbrzych has all the results of the tests ordered during the autopsy of a doctor from the Wałbrzych hospital (…). It turned out that the concentration of alcohol was very high – 2 per mille in the blood and 2,5 per mille of alcohol in the urine. According to the prosecutor’s office, the cause of Leszek P.’s sudden and violent death was suffocation caused by obstruction of the respiratory tract with food»- informs the service.

But that’s not all. In August this year. The Lower Silesian prosecutor’s office seized narcotic drugs in the anesthesiologist’s place of residence, which, as it turned out, had died from the hospital. This thread is still under investigation.
«These drugs should absolutely not be there. They could only be used in a hospital, and the procedure is regulated, inter alia, by Act on counteracting drug addiction. The possession of these substances is prohibited. We are still explaining the question of having these drugs by the doctor »- Wałbrzych Our City portal quotes the words of the district prosecutor in Wałbrzych, Marcin Witkowski.
Although banned substances were found in the doctor’s apartment, they were not detected in the man’s body on the day of his death.
