Success Story: Single Mother Earns $ 13K For Sponge Reviews

A woman removes reviews of sponges, cheap personal care products and other nonsense.

Nellie Brollini, a 37-year-old single mother from Manchester, worked as a nurse in a psychiatric clinic and did not think that she would ever become a famous blogger.

Unfortunately, Nellie’s health more and more often failed, and eventually she realized that she was no longer able to work as a nurse.

“I loved my job, but it was getting harder and harder to contain and control patients, so I had to quit,” says Nelly.

The woman got a job in the waiting room of a therapist. It was calmer here than in a psychiatric clinic. However, once a casual conversation with a friend made Nellie radically change her profession.

Friends have noticed that many of their friends are reviewing purchased items to earn extra money. They were like those women who go door to door with catalogs of cosmetics, only in the online version.

– But I watched these videos and missed, – admits Nelly. – If someone tried a face mask, they just sat in it and waited for it to work. And I thought: “Why not tell some story or something else at this time. I was so bored that I even forgot that they were selling at all! “

Nelly felt: in the commercials you need to show your individuality. At the time, the most popular product was lip gloss, which added volume. Nelly suggested to her friend: “Let’s buy one shine, try it, film it on our phones, publish it on Facebook. And whoever gets the most likes will get 50 pounds. Well, she still owes me £ 50 – my video was a huge success. “

People wrote in the comments that Nelly is very funny and asked for more reviews.

“I was working part-time, my daughter went to university, so I thought: why not?” – says Nelly.

An aspiring blogger decided to review the celebrity exercise disc – one of those things we all buy and never use.

“This was the most honest exercise review I think anyone has ever done,” the blogger assures.

Nelly shared the video with her friends, and in just a few days, the video received 98 million views. So a single mother became the most popular person on the Internet in February 2017.

The shocked Nellie realized: you can’t stop. With only her iPhone for video recording and a little internet knowledge, she bought a small tripod and began doing reviews of everything from sponges and shampoos to a portable female urinal (with no luck with the latter, and Nelly ruined the home carpet).

A month and a half later, Facebook approved her name as an official brand, and Nelly has earned millions of fans around the world. The blogger affectionately calls all his fans flowers.

“They send me messages, ask me to review this or that tool, because they know that I will be honest,” says Nelly. – If I didn’t like something, I’ll say so. I’m happy that people don’t waste their money thanks to my reviews. ”

Nelly’s main rule: the product must be affordable. The most expensive thing a blogger has ever experienced was £ 60 – some gummy vitamins.

“A lot of people have asked me to test one of the hair dryers, but I don’t have £ 500 to spend on some kind of dryer,” the blogger admitted. – With this money, I can pay a month’s rent for an apartment and taxes. But that’s why I can always be honest and impartial – I buy everything myself. “

If a person wants to buy what Nelly told about in her vlog, he follows the link to Amazon, and the blogger receives a commission from the seller.

“Sometimes I earn £ 500 per post, sometimes £ 5000. But often, when I post a review, it becomes the best selling product on Amazon that day, ”says Nelly proudly.

However, honest reviews don’t always appeal to product manufacturers. Nellie often gets feedback from companies wanting her to remove a scandalous review.

“Once a woman called me and said that those super curlers didn’t work because my hair was too long. I told her that it should be written on the box, ”says the blogger.

One day, a company asked Nellie to try some device that helps women with lush breasts get rid of sweat under their breasts. The device cost $ 40. But Nelly found the same item on the internet for £ 2 and reviewed it.

Now, two years later, Nellie not only gives reviews, but gives people honest advice on personal matters. She also writes columns for two magazines. And when her salary reached six figures, Nelly opened her own boutique with clothes for donuts.

“Recently a girl came to my store and said that she really liked my videos. And I advised her not to swear like me, – laughs Nelly. – Another time an 86-year-old woman came and admitted that she had been depressed for a long time since her husband died. But my videos have become a bright spot in her life. ” And of course, many offers come to Nellie from men. “Although these people on the street won’t even look at me. They only care about my popularity, so you have to be careful. “

“At my age, women like me have few opportunities, so I had to grab the bull by the horns,” says Nelly of the secret of her success. “A lot of people don’t like me, and I just think,“ Then don’t waste your last day on Earth watching me. Do what you want!”
