Stylish solution: how to fit the blinds into the interior

It’s a great way to add new accents to your interior.

When you spend a lot of time at home, you want variety. There are many ways to change décor and make your environment cozier. One of the interesting solutions will be the installation of louvered doors. It is both a functional piece of furniture, an original decoration, and a way to show design imagination.

Each interior has its own doors

Ordinary flat doors look empty, especially in styles that involve a play of texture and patterns – in a romantic, vintage style, in neoclassical interiors. Louvered doors make the interior more textured and original, create a cozy atmosphere.

Such doors are suitable for any style where natural materials and wood finishes are welcome, because most often they are made from natural pine needles. For example, it is a suitable solution for rustic and Provence styles, for nautical style or country charm.

But even in a simple interior, jalousie doors will come in handy, they will make it more alive. In a minimalistic setting, they can help create a light, geometric decor. And the jalousie doors made of metal will add brutality to the loft-style interior.

Practicality first of all

Louvered doors look stylish in furniture design. They are installed in wardrobes, cupboards with dishes, books, bedside tables in the bedroom or on the kitchen island. Doors of different sizes can be used to decorate the wall cabinets of the kitchen unit and cabinets with little things in the TV area of the living room. This is an easy way to make the atmosphere more cozy by replacing just a few details with furniture hinges.

From high jalousie doors, you can assemble a screen that separates the areas for work and rest. Smaller doors are suitable for closing a ventilation hatch or riser with pipes in the bathroom. They can also be used on windows so that too bright sun does not interfere with work and household chores. For installation, it is recommended to use window patch hinges.

As decorative elements, doors of different sizes can be used to decorate an accent wall or a part of the wall at the head of the bed. This will help bring soft geometric motifs to the interior that create an atmosphere of order. If you don’t want to change the entire finish, you can attach one small door to the wall and hang hooks with photographs, paintings, wreaths or even culinary spatulas and whisks on it if you use them in the kitchen.

How to style blinds doors

If you want to focus on the natural color of the wood, then the blinds can be left without treatment. This will be relevant, for example, in a brutal loft or in a Scandinavian style with its simplicity and desire for naturalness. To emphasize the texture of wood in other styles, cover the doors with a lighter or darker varnish, depending on the main colors of your interior.

If the color of the wood does not suit you, you can paint the doors in a neutral tone for the walls or furniture. Pastel colors will look especially romantic – soft blue, mint, lavender. Doors in this color will create an interesting play of light and shadow and at the same time will not distract attention with their extravagance. It is better to use white color not in its pure form, but with a slightly noticeable shade in order to avoid the effect of an uninhabited room.

After painting, you can walk on the wooden surface with sandpaper. This will create a subtle aged effect that will fit into the style of rustic charm, retro or shabby chic. And if you want to enhance this effect, cover the wood with a patina or matte varnish. The result is a simple but elegant detail that will make your interior more comfortable.
