How to grow Sturon onions?
It can be sown on a feather, grown on a windowsill in winter, and have fresh greens. To obtain large marketable onions, a two-year technology is used:
- Site selection. Sandy loam, fertile soils are best suited. Make furrows on the garden bed at a distance of 10 cm from each other, sprinkle with a thin layer of humus.
- Getting a set. In April, sow nigella, pre-soaking for 2 days. When the seedlings sprout, thin them out, regularly loosen, water, fertilize the soil. After the greens have wilted, dig up and dry the seedlings, store in bags in a well-ventilated place at a temperature of +15 to + 20 ° C.
- Preparing for landing. Discard damaged specimens, cut off the dry neck during spring planting; during autumn planting, this is not necessary. Soak the set for several hours, dip it in a solution of copper sulfate.
- Landing. During autumn work, fertilize the site with organic matter, put the onion in holes 3 cm deep, sprinkle with earth, mulch with sawdust. By spring, it will harden and begin to germinate early. When planting in April, use mineral fertilizers.
- Care. Moisten the soil regularly, but not too abundantly, stop watering 2 weeks before harvest. Feed the plant several times per season.
To make the bulbs large, do not break off the feathers, but cut them off before digging when they turn yellow.
The benefits of this variety can only be appreciated with proper care. Without much labor costs, you will receive a delicious, environmentally friendly product.
