Bell pepper classic
Bell peppers are undoubtedly a healthy vegetable. It surpasses lemon and black currant in vitamin C content. The ascorbic acid contained in pepper is combined with a large amount of vitamin P, and this community helps to strengthen blood vessels. Bulgarian pepper is cultivated on all continents. Therefore, this vegetable is widely used in cooking. It is consumed fresh. It has a unique aroma and taste that goes from sour to sweet and at the same time salty. Bell peppers are often added to salads, stews and soups, salted, pickled, fried, grilled, stuffed with meat, vegetables and other products.
For a classic recipe for stuffed bell peppers, you will need: – 6 large bell peppers; – 500 g of minced beef and pork; – ½ cup of rice; – 1 egg; – 1 onion; – 1 carrot; – 1 tomato; – 50 g of butter ; – bay leaf; – allspice or black pepper to taste; – herbs, salt to taste.
Cut off the stalk of bell peppers, clean the grains, wash inside and out, and prepare the filling. Take a frying pan, fry finely chopped onions in it until golden brown. Add peeled carrots chopped on a coarse grater to the onion. Rice must be cooked according to the recipe on the package. Minced meat can be purchased or prepared at home. Add onions and carrots, rice and one raw egg to the finished minced meat. Add herbs, seasonings and salt to taste. Mix everything well. Fill the peppers with this minced meat.
Take a thick-walled pot or large cauldron. Put butter on the bottom of the dish, put the stuffed peppers. Sprinkle the peppers with finely chopped herbs and chopped carrots. Pour everything with boiled water or prepared meat broth. Add bay leaf, finely chopped, peeled tomato. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer over low heat for 30-40 minutes. If we are talking about a dinner in the country, of course, there is not enough time to tinker with the preparation of peppers with minced meat.
