Let’s take a closer look at the structure of the heart.

Structure of the heart is adapted to be able to provide nutrients and life-giving oxygen to all organs of our body in the most efficient way possible. From the organs, the blood vessel system drains metabolites, i.e. waste products, back to hearts.

Structure of the heart – let’s start from the beginning

Heart of an adult human being the size of a clenched fist. It is located in the so-called middle mediastinum, below the sternum, between the spine and the right and left lungs. Structure of the heart it is four-chamber: so we have two atria and two chambers.

Structure of the heart – right atrium and right ventricle

Structure of the heart it is constructed in such a way that the right atrium can collect blood from virtually all organs of the body (except the lungs). This process is possible thanks to the inferior and superior vena cava and the coronary sinus. Crimson-colored unoxidized blood flows into the right ventricle hearts through the tricuspid valve and then through the crescent-shaped valve, pulmonary trunk, pulmonary arteries to the lungs. There, gas exchange takes place and the outflowing blood is rich in life-giving oxygen. This is called bloodstream low, otherwise known as pulmonary.
