Strengthening weakened nails

Sealing – first aid for weakened marigolds

This method of strengthening nails is very effective, therefore it is very popular. Nail sealing can be done in a beauty salon using the services of professional craftsmen, or you can do it yourself at home.

If the procedure for restoring weakened nails is carried out at home, first of all, you need to clean the nails from varnish and give them the desired shape and length. Then you should prepare a warm bath (1 tablespoon of sea salt is taken for 1 liter of water) and hold your hands in it for 7-10 minutes. After that, you need to apply a soft scrub to your fingertips, massage gently and rinse. Following this, the burrs are removed and the cuticle is gently pushed back with the help of an orange stick. Then the hands are dipped for 8-10 minutes in a nourishing bath (for its preparation 1-2 drops of aromatic oil of sandalwood, bergamot, patchouli, cedar, incense or any other are added to warm water). Then they dry their hands and start polishing the nail plates (polishing should be done in one direction, and the movements should be soft). Sealing cream is then applied to the nails and polished further.

Nails will become stronger if you massage the nail plates with a nourishing cream every time before going to bed.

To make a nail sealing cream at home, you will need the following components:

  • 20 g beeswax
  • 80 g base oil (jojoba oil or wheatgrass oil)
  • water

The base oil is heated in a water bath, after which beeswax is added and mixed well. Then add some water to the mixture and mix again. Then the cream is transferred to a glass container and used as needed.

Paraffin therapy is an effective way to restore weakened nails

Paraffin baths nourish the skin of the hands and slow down its aging (they can also be done for the feet), and also improve the circulation of the fingers, which in turn helps to strengthen the nails.

You can also carry out paraffin therapy at home. To do this, take 250-300 g of paraffin (preferably with vitamin supplements), place it in a small enamel pot and put it in a water bath. When the paraffin has melted, it is immersed in the hand bath for a few seconds and removed (it is advisable to remove the keratinized layer of cells from the skin of the hands with a scrub before starting this procedure and apply a moisturizing hand cream). Then they put their hands back into the molten paraffin for 5–7 seconds and take them out again.

This is done 6-7 times, after which they put on plastic gloves, and wrap their hands on top with a terry towel

After 23-25 minutes, the paraffin mask together with the polyethylene gloves is removed, and the remaining paraffin is removed with a towel soaked in warm water.

This procedure is best done at night. After it, it is recommended to apply a nourishing cream to the skin of the hands and nails.
