PSYchology

Physical exercise not only strengthens the body, but also helps to cope with memory disorders. This conclusion was reached by neurologists from Columbia University and the Salk Institute (USA).

By examining volunteers before and after a three-month course of training in the gym, the scientists found a significant increase in blood flow (and hence the formation of new nerve cells) in the hippocampus, the brain region through which information moves from short-term to long-term memory. Now it’s up to finding the optimal mode of training.
