  1. Sort the berries, wash thoroughly under running water. Let excess water drain. Remove the stems.

  2. If the berries are different in size, then cut very large ones so that they are boiled for sure.
  3. Place the strawberries in a container and cover with sugar. To store the workpiece at room temperature outside the refrigerator, take strawberries and granulated sugar in a 1: 1 ratio.
  4. Strawberries should stand for about 2-3 hours to give juice. You can do these manipulations in the evening, then put the container with berries in the refrigerator to continue cooking in the morning.
  5. Ripe berries usually give a lot of juice. Place the container with the strawberries that have released juice on the fire. Try to mix the jam as little as possible so as not to damage the berries.
  6. Remove the foam with a clean spoon. Add 1 tbsp. l. freshly squeezed lemon juice or 1 tsp. citric acid. Thanks to citric acid, the jam is not candied and acquires a pleasant sourness.

  7. Wait for the jam to boil, note 5 minutes – the required cooking time. Then spread the hot mass in clean, dry jars, which can be sterilized in advance for greater reliability. Tighten the jars with metal lids. Turn the finished jam over and put the lids down. To enhance the sterilization effect, wrap the jars with a blanket.
  8. After cooling, the workpiece can be stored. Jam is best stored in a dark, dry, ventilated place.

Strawberry jam can be cooked without first falling asleep berries with sugar. Mix the berries with sugar and put immediately on a small fire. The main thing here is to prevent the berries or sand from burning. Therefore, constant mixing is required, which causes the berries to crumple.

Option 3

Ingredients: strawberries 1 kg, granulated sugar 1 kg, 150-200 g of water.

First prepare the sugar syrup. To do this, add water to sugar. Boil the mass for a while. Readiness is determined in this way: the syrup flows from a spoon in a viscous wide stream. Don’t overcook the syrup. It shouldn’t be brown.

Place the prepared berries in the syrup, wait until it boils. Cooking time: 5 minutes.

Arrange in jars, seal, turn over and let cool.

Now in any store you can buy frozen strawberries. It can also be used to make jam. Just imagine: suddenly, in the middle of winter, the apartment is filled with the aroma of boiling strawberry jam.

Jam from frozen berries does not make sense to cook for the future. You can weld it at any time. Therefore, it is quite logical if you use less granulated sugar. Enough 400-500 g per 1 kg of frozen strawberries.
