Strawberry and blackberry hybrids
Rose-leaved raspberry – this is the name of a hybrid of strawberries and blackberries, first grown in South America. The plant got its name from the bright green leaves with jagged edges, resembling rose leaves in appearance.
Description of the strawberry hybrid
The shrub is rather undersized – it grows only up to 60 cm. Due to its dense round crown, it is excellent for arranging hedges. Large white flowers have 5 petals. Flowering begins in mid-summer and does not stop until autumn, with new flowers blooming around ripe fruits.

Abroad, the culture is called Strawberry-Raspberry, but our hybrid of strawberry and blackberry has many names:
- rosalin;
- raspberry;
- Tibetan raspberry;
- strawberry;
- seductive raspberry.
Bright red berries, reaching the size of a walnut, do not hide under the foliage, but stick out, attracting the curious glances of passers-by with their stunning beauty. The peak of ripening begins in August, when other varieties of raspberries are already finishing fruiting.
Growing a raspberry hybrid
Raspberry is undemanding to care for. The best place for planting it is an open area, closed from drafts, with fertile soil without an excess of moisture.
In the spring, young shoots appear, while it grows so intensively that it is advisable to protect the planting site by digging wooden shields or slate sheets around. When removing excess bushes, it is necessary to carefully remove all the roots – a small remaining piece will easily give new growth.
Strawberry hybrids love moisture, watering regularly in hot weather is especially important. Weeding is done as needed and very carefully, since the roots are practically on the surface. At the end of fruiting, the stems die off, they are cut off at the base and the soil is mulched with a thick layer of peat or sawdust.
The plant is prickly: like the wild rose, there are thorns not only on the branches, but also on the back of the leaves. Caring for the bushes must be done with gloves and tight clothing.
Supports are usually not required for the strawberry, but it can be grown on a trellis or as a small decorative hedge. The plant can also be planted on a balcony or terrace. Reproduction occurs by root shoots and dividing the bush, so there will be no shortage of planting material.
The taste of ezhklubnika berries is something in between drupe and mulberry – sweetish with a characteristic sourness. Large bright fruits will serve as an excellent decoration for any dessert. Jams and jams are amazingly tasty.
