Stop time, i.e. skin care around the eyes

It is said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul. One thing is certain – they are part of the face that can quickly reveal a person’s age. Properly cared for the eye area is the basis for anti-wrinkle prevention. Rested, healthy and shiny eyes are the asset of every woman, they attract the attention of the environment and that is why it is so important to start regular eye care early enough.

The skin in this place is extremely thin and sensitive, which is why the first wrinkles appear there. Why is the skin around the eyes so special? Because it is almost devoid of sebaceous glands, subcutaneous tissue and, in addition, poorly vascularized. That is why it is so easy to get bruises and swelling in these areas.

For these reasons, the skin is prone to various allergies and poorly moisturized. Due to the action of external factors, it ages faster. There are many such factors and they include:

  • Smoking,
  • UV radiation, frost and wind,
  • Air in air-conditioned rooms,
  • Using aggressive cosmetics that contain fragrances and preservatives,
  • Environment pollution,
  • the use of contact lenses,
  • Poor diet and little sleep
  • Working at the computer
  • Neglecting make-up removal.

The most important of them is simply leading a healthy lifestyle, focused around a proper diet rich in vitamins and minerals, physical activity and adequate sleep. It is also important to constantly protect your eyes from the sun – regardless of the season, it is worth having sunglasses with you, during greater exposure to UV rays, use creams with a high filter. It is also important to limit salt consumption, avoid stressful situations, long sitting in front of the monitor and air-conditioned rooms.

The next step is to apply the right eye cream, which can have different forms:

  • Cream – has large amounts of regenerating substances and lubricates the skin.
  • Gel – recommended for young people. It absorbs quickly and has a tightening effect on the skin.
  • Serum – recommended for the elderly, because it contains strong, concentrated substances and is quickly absorbed, such as the Pure serum that reduces dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. They can also be used as a temporary treatment for young skin.

It is best that they contain plant extracts (e.g. from orchid, cornflower, marigold, horse chestnut, eyebright, etc.), substances with a soothing and moisturizing effect, oiling (e.g. shea butter), anti-wrinkle substances (retinol, lipoic acid, from Japanese cherry), vitamins, folic acid and provitamin B5.
