One thought about money can influence our behavior. How exactly? Psychologists Kathleen D. Vohs and Nicole L. Mead from the Universities of Minnesota and Florida (USA) and Miranda R. Goode from the University of British Columbia (Canada) became interested in this. They asked the students to complete a series jobs next to the computer monitor that is on. Some of the participants saw on the screen a screen saver depicting banknotes and coins, while others saw a neutral landscape.

It turned out that students from the first group, on average, asked for help later and offered less help in solving tasks to other participants, and also kept a greater distance in relation to others.

It seems that even the reminder of money prevents us from relaxing and remaining direct in our interactions with others. So, perhaps, you should not mix financial and personal relationships.
