😉 Greetings to regular and new readers! Friends, each of us has our own unique history and destiny. Steve Jobs’s story is a story of ups and downs, a case when a person never gives up and believes in himself!
IPhone creator Stephen Jobs is one of the founders of Apple, Next, Pixar and a key figure in the global computer industry. The person who largely determined the course of its development.
Steve Jobs biography
Steve Jobs’s story begins in Mountain View, California. There the future billionaire was born on February 24, 1955. Zodiac sign – Pisces.
Parents:
The boy’s biological parents, a Syrian emigrant and an American graduate student, gave the illegitimate child for adoption to Paul and Clara Jobs, but the main condition for adoption was the child’s higher education. From that day on, the adoptive parents began to save money for their son’s education.
Friends
Ironically, Steve grew up in the Silicon Valley, which already then began to turn into a world center for the development of computer technology.
The English name for the Silicon Valley comes from the use of silicon as a semiconductor in the manufacture of semiconductor devices (transistors, microcircuits, diodes).
Therefore, even at school, the guy became interested in electronics, and when in 1969 he met his namesake Steve Wozniak, he first thought about the business related to computer technology.
Wozniak, also known as Woz, was well versed in computers and electronics. The two immediately became friends, even though Woz was five years older.
The first project of the partners was BlueBox – a device that allowed using long distance communication for free. Friends sold this device for $ 150 apiece.
Wozniak was involved in the development and assembly of the devices, and the thirteen-year-old Jobs was selling illegal goods. This distribution of roles will continue in the future. Only their future business will be legal and large-scale.
Education
In high school, Jobs decided to go to Portland College in Oregon. It was a very expensive liberal arts college. However, Jobs’s parents fulfilled the promise once made to the boy’s biological mother – and paid for his education.
Steve attended college for only one semester, after which he dropped out. He decided to freely attend lectures only on subjects of interest to him. Another guy was carried away by oriental mysticism. He often sat on unusual diets, then fasted, then ate only fruits. This was the hippie period of his life. Steve had no college education.
Starting a business
Apple in its first year was in Steve’s garage assembling boards and trying to sell them in computer stores. Here, Woz continued work on a more advanced computer, the Apple II, which was completed in 1977.
Friends understood that their offspring, the Apple II, was a breakthrough in the field of computer technology. Therefore, Steve began an active search for investors willing to invest in the venture. And such an investor was found!
It turned out to be a former Intel employee, Mike Markulla, who invested $ 250,000 in the business. The Apple II soon became a symbol of the world revolution in the world of personal computers.
The company began to expand rapidly and in 1980 reached a national scale. Jobs, who turned 25, had a net worth of $ 200 million at the time.
Steve Jobs family
“Behind every great man is a great woman.” Such a woman for Steve Jobs was his wife Lauren Jobs. She was with him during his failures and successes, accompanying his every step. Lauren was the love of his life.
In an interview in 2005, Steve said: “From this whole story of cancer, I clearly understood one thing. I realized that I love my life. For real. I have the best family in the world, I love my job. But this is my life.
I love my family, I love Apple, and I love Pixar. And I came back to all this. I am a very lucky one. ” Steve Jobs has four children: three daughters and one son.
Vegetarianism
From the age of 19, Steve has been a staunch vegetarian. For some time he was a “fruitarian”, that is, he ate only fruit. During this period, he began to fast systematically. He was sure that digesting food takes a lot of energy, and in fact he sometimes had to stay awake for several days in a row.
He often told his guests about animal food, and that he does not make concessions to himself, although he loves and eats fish. It is known that one of his favorite snacks was raw carrots.
Steve Jobs clothes
“I don’t care how I look,” Steve told his friends. That’s why his usual look is Levi’s 501 blue jeans, long-sleeved turtleneck and trainers. This is a very contrasting change from the days of Apple and NeXT, when he wore the most expensive Brioni suits.
He didn’t care about the paradox of a multibillionaire dressed in leaky jeans. He had an excellent rational explanation for this – you can save part of the morning if you don’t think about what to wear?
Steve Jobs disease
In late 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Fortunately, the tumor was not fatal: surgery would have saved him. However, he did not agree to it, and for nine years he followed a special diet, which, he assumed, would cure his ailment. But this did not happen, he noticeably lost weight.
In April 2009, he underwent a liver transplant. On March 2, 2011, he spoke at the presentation of a new tablet – iPad 2. Steve died on October 5, 2011. This is how the story of Steve Jobs ends, but his work was not in vain – our modern world is grateful to him.
