Sterko is a drug used in urination disorders associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia in the XNUMXst and XNUMXnd stage of the disease (pollakiuria, frequent urination at night, decreased urinary stream size, urinary retention). The preparation is in the form of capsules and is available without a prescription.

Sterko is a preparation of natural origin with anti-androgenic properties. The active substance of the drug is an extract from saw palmetto (dwarf palm, saw palmetto).

Sterko is a drug that is used in the following problems:

  2. associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia in the first and second stage of the disease,
  3. pollakiuria,
  4. frequent urination at night

Drug dosage

Sterko is in the form of tablets and is intended for oral use. The preparation should be used in accordance with the recommendations, because exceeding the daily dose may harm your life or health.

Sterko and contraindications

Contraindication to the use of Sterko is:

  1. allergy to any component of the preparation,
  2. the use of diuretics (the drug may increase their effect).

Sterko – warnings

  1. Be especially careful when taking the drug and remember that it alleviates the symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia – it does not eliminate it.
  2. While taking Sterko, patients should consult their doctor regularly (especially if there is blood in the urine, urinary tract infection or urine retention in the bladder).
  3. The drug facilitates the flow of urine, therefore it may increase the effect of oral diuretics.
  4. Patients (men) 35+ and those at increased risk of developing prostate diseases (especially prostate cancer) should have the level of specific PSA antigen tested before using the drug.
  5. The use of the drug should be discontinued before performing the test (as well as other anti-androgens), due to the possibility of false results.

Despite the lack of information on interactions between Sterko and other drugs, you should inform your doctor about all the preparations you take.

Sterko – side effects

While taking Sterko rarely may occur: gastrointestinal disturbances or nausea (after taking the medicine on an empty stomach).
