Spring brings the Hall of Gourmets

A new edition of the best showcase of quality food and beverages arrives in the capital of Spain with important news.

El Gourmet Lounge This year, 2017, he returns to the Ifema venue in a week with multiple innovations and with Canada as the guest country.

As in previous editions of the International Fair for Quality Food and Drinks, the thousands of exhibitors will come with the latest news of their products and with the firm intention of captivating the visitors of one of the most popular food samples in our country.

The dates have already been set, and it will be from April 24 to 27 the time to go to meet the most innovative and avant-garde delicatessen products that will give a lot to talk about throughout the year.

In this thirty-first edition of the Fair, almost all the autonomous communities will be represented such as Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Navarra, the Valencian community and the Basque Country, together with the international representations of the aforementioned Canada and Germany, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Belgium, Ecuador, France, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland.

Along with the fair activity comes the XVIII Taller de los Sentidos Gourmets (TSG), the didactic space for the general public where you can taste a selection of quality food and drinks exhibited in the room, and which is complemented with different activities didactics for the smallest of the house on nutrition and healthy eating.

The novelties of the Salon de Gourmets

5 pavilions, one more than the last edition, make the organization’s commitment to consolidate itself as the main quality food fair in the national showcase.

Another important exhibition novelty is the creation of a specific area for premium distillates called Evolution Spirits, in response to the growing demand within the hotel industry and nightlife. An evolution of the well-known Ginmotive space, which in this edition of the fair coincides with its 5th anniversary

We will be able to see the best mixologists analyzing and working with the first brands of national and international distillates, as well as private tastings and the interesting and innovative “cigar lounge”, a place to rest and carry out tastings on cigars and cigars.

The insolvency activity of the Fair

As in previous editions of the Salón de Gourmets, it will have an extensive program of competitions such as the Ham Cutters, La GourmeTapa, with its Spanish Tapas Championship, the beer draft, the Spanish Sommelier Championship, the cooking with EVOO, that of the best cheese board or that of oyster openers.

In this edition, all these classics of the fair are joined by the competition for the best Russian salad and the one for the best cachopo.

Behind the salad is the Mahou beer company that sponsors and promotes it as an ideal complement to its fermented products and will base the rules on originality, presentation and above all taste.

On the part of the so fashionable Cachopos, it is the Asturian Veal IGP that promotes the championship, marking the classic steaks, ham and cheese for its elaboration, and leaving freedom to the creativity of accessories such as peppers, asparagus, mushrooms, etc. …
