Spotykach from currants or other berries

Spotykachi is often confused with liqueurs, but there is a difference between these drinks in the technology of preparation and the final taste. Spotykach turns out to be sweeter, thicker and more aromatic, it is a classic dessert spirit. Next, I will tell you how to make a spotykach at home. This method is suitable for any berries and fruits, but it is the blackcurrant recipe that is considered traditional.

I advise you to use only large ripe berries, from which you need to squeeze the juice. There is very little juice in small fruits, which greatly complicates the process. Instead of vodka, you can use alcohol diluted to 40-45 degrees. We are preparing a sweet dessert drink, so it is better to refuse moonshine. An unpleasant aftertaste appears in moonshine, which is very difficult to drown out, except to add more sugar, but then the drink turns out to be not sweet, but cloying.

In addition to currants, spotykach can be made from raspberries, cranberries, plums and chokeberries. Proportions and cooking technology do not change.

Ingredients:

  • blackcurrant berries – 1 kg;
  • vodka – 750 ml;
  • water – 3 glass;
  • sugar – 1 kg.
