Spontaneity

Spontaneity (lat. — spontaneous) — spontaneity; characteristics of processes caused not by external influences, but by internal causes; self-activity, the ability to act actively under the influence of internal impulses.

The two forms of spontaneity are mindless, random, impulsive spontaneity and creative, lively, intelligent spontaneity. Random spontaneity is used in instrumental learning, while creative spontaneity is used in creative learning.

In the Gestalt approach, situations are not uncommon when spontaneity is confused with impulsivity:

Long live spontaneity! Let’s be alive and spontaneous like children! That’s what Perls taught! Give enuresis as the highest manifestation of spontaneity and authenticity! Hooray!!! Familiar? Yes. Spontaneity, in fact, is when all this also has an optimal form in this world, in a given situation and at a given moment in time. In particular, it may turn out that at a given moment in time and in a given situation, the most optimal and most spontaneous would be to be patient and wait for a more opportune moment (but not for long, of course). A prerequisite for creative impulsivity is muscle relaxation. People with a tight muscular system can be impulsive, but they are not distinguished by spontaneity. See →
