What is Spirituality in the synton approach

Spirituality is something you don’t understand. Indeed, what spirituality is is not very clear to an ordinary person: it is felt as something distant, incomprehensible and related either to philosophy or religion, but not to normal life. People who seek spirituality are either overly demanding of others, or simply strange, and in companies next to them it is not very comfortable.

Spirituality does not always contribute to the convenience of life. Catholicism and Orthodoxy, which preach inner work and the futility of social success, rest on spirituality the most, in contrast to Protestantism, which more often speaks of the rational use of time, productive work and good earnings. So it turns out that people with spiritual aspirations live in dirty shacks, while socially oriented Protestants have soapy streets, bright and comfortable houses, and clean toilets at airports…

The topic of spirituality is not very popular and dangerous. If you bypass it by a very far side, you will be accused of lack of spirituality, and if you touch it carelessly, it is easy to run into insulting someone’s feelings and other troubles, therefore, spirituality is usually spoken about rarely and with caution: just as they carefully pick up a sharp knife. And yet, spirituality is a good and very important topic. I would like this word to become closer to you. Let’s figure it out, but carefully.

Spirituality is often confused with soulfulness, but it is not. Sincerity is warm, spirituality is strict. Sincerity is the maternal line, spirituality is the paternal line. Spirituality is the life vertical, sincerity is the life horizontal.

Spirituality should not be confused with religiosity. A religious person necessarily follows religious precepts, a spiritual person is inwardly free and lives by his inner experience.

Spirituality and morality are also not the same thing: not every moral person is a spiritual person. As for truly spiritual people, as a rule, these are people of high morality, although the specific behavior of a spiritual person may seem to others not quite moral. The Buddha abandoned his old father and his young wife and child to find a way to save humanity. Again: spirituality is about the vertical of life, morality is about the horizontal of life.

People with a scientific outlook treat spirituality with respect, but the use of the word spirituality is wary, since this word is heavily exploited by irresponsible people, people with an unbalanced psyche and scammers. Spirituality is a popular brand, and under this brand, many «teachers» sell their goods as spiritual practices, although in reality there may be cheap esotericism and reasonable psychotherapeutic procedures. As for the so-called spiritual practices, there is a lot of misunderstanding and confusion with them. Usually, spiritual practices include meditative techniques that allow you to stop the chatter of the internal dialogue and teach concentration.

Sitting in a calm state in front of a candle flame, normalizing your breathing, removing negative thoughts and concentrating on the beautiful sound of mantras is a procedure that is useful for everyone, although it is not directly related to spirituality, but to the desensitization technique and attention management.

Popular literature relating to spirituality usually contains a lot of beautiful words, muddy talk about the sublime, Shambhala and the Teachers of Humanity, a little parapsychology and Blavatsky, a suggestion to inspire yourself with something positive more often, think about people and buy: candles, oils, icons and books of promoted authors.

Many people try to do business on spirituality, but attempts to “spice up spirituality” with something meaningful and business-like usually fail. The fact is that literature on personal development, spirituality and enlightenment is read by several categories of people. Firstly, these are young men of 16-24 years old with burning eyes, but there are not many of them, and they do not read much, because they have little money. The most numerous cohort is women 30-40 years old, when their men disappear and their health deteriorates. Then they read Sinelnikov and other authors on the wonders of healing and in general about karma. They have money, but the ladies are fickle and do not know where they will spend: on a magazine about spirituality or buy a blouse with a friend. Networkers are also close to this category, especially since 70% of them are women. The problem is that networkers are hired by their own people, they publish specialized magazines for them and conduct specialized trainings … Businessmen with a habit of intuition are much less interested in literature of spiritual content. They have money, but they are reluctant to buy ordinary books and almanacs, because they are used to business-format printed publications with less information and more gloss. The most reasonable and the smallest category of readers are reasonable people for whom it is natural to develop and keep in mind the meanings of life. But these people are few, and these people prefer not to confuse the topic of spirituality with esotericism and other mysticism.

Spirituality is the internally motivated concern of a developed person to leave behind something useful for people, to leave a good and necessary mark in life with their deeds. Spirituality is the highest level of a person’s personal development, leading to an orientation towards high life values: truth, goodness, beauty.

In the synthon approach, spirituality is extremely practical and very realistic things. Sinton has a slogan: “Whatever I do, the amount of goodness in the world must increase”, while good is understood quite realistically: a chair is standing — this is good, and a chair is broken — this is not good, the amount of good has decreased. However, any things are done by people, and if a person has a creative culture that produces chairs, equipment, toothbrushes and juices, then this is a cultured person: one who creates good. The characteristics of this person: positive, constructive, responsibility, energy — that Sinton brings up in all his trainings. This person lives in the position of an Angel with the philosophy of the Creator.

If you are such a person, then you do not live in order to provide for your carcass, your happiness and other small needs. This is not the meaning of your life, not because you do not need it, but because it is done in an elementary way, for a maximum of half an hour a day. We got up, washed ourselves, smiled — happy. Breakfast — ready to work. Go ahead, you already have everything you need for life! Work! Next, whatever you do, your main concern is «the amount of goodness in the world.» You make sure that culture grows in the soul of people, so that they produce those goods, after which women may not care whether they have hot water, bread and butter on the table. Men in such a world should work and take care of women. Women next to such men give birth and raise children: boys who will take an example from their father and become real men, and girls who want to become future mothers and learn to respect men in order to raise children correctly, and not the way women want. And if all this happens, then the amount of goodness in the world increases, and those who do all this are people living a spiritual life. What is important is people who do it not because they were told, but because it is internally necessary for them, and they do it not thoughtlessly, not at the level of habits, but act thoughtfully and consciously. This is a difficult inner work, especially since the temptations do not sleep.

You need to get up, but you want to lie down. You need to get down to business, and there is such a movie on TV! You love beer, but this is not your drink, you are our spiritual…

There are more serious questions, questions about the main direction of your work. You have to think every time, what is this culture that you care about? You came to Nazi Germany — will you also increase culture there? The culture of what kind of military production or what kind of combat organization?

A spiritual person is obliged to think constantly, deciding whom to take care of, in whom to invest, in what kind of people? In your children? Or maybe in other children who come to you already adults? The work and concern of a spiritual person is to make everyday choices: choices about what and how to do, what to invest in. A spiritual person may be mistaken in details, but he always knows the main direction and develops himself every day. He has a bright mind, a strong will, he is above empty entertainment and is not distracted from the cause of good. Yes, this is a difficult choice, but this is exactly what spirituality is!
