With motto 5, “Nurture the Planet. Energy for Life ”presents the Universal Exhibition of Milan, to promote a healthy, sufficient and sustainable diet for all humanity.

La Expo Milano 2015 is Universal exposition held this year in the transalpine country, from May 1 to October 31, 2015.

It is the largest event of its kind ever organized and where nutrition will play a leading role, almost unprecedented in this type of global meetings.

The Lombard city will be the cradle of the Sustainable Gastronomy and it will act as a world showcase for all participating countries to show their best technological and gastronomic proposals, seeking the perfect symbiosis between the two.

Not in vain, the message of this edition seeks to respond to the vital need for nutrition, but seeking or trying to achieve a balance with the ecosystem and sufficient scope for all the peoples of the planet.

The exhibition will be attended by almost 150 nationalities, and international organizations involved with the environment and nutrition, which will occupy an area of ​​more than 1 million square meters of exhibition.

In them we will be able to know and savor the best local products of each country, and how not to taste the exquisite culinary creations of all the places in the world represented there

The Mediterranean gastronomy of our country

Every 5 years these Universal exhibitions are held in a city in the world, which back in 92, ended up in our country.

It was then the city of Seville that had the privilege of offering the world Spanish culture with its gastronomic traditions and its excellent products and preparations.

That meeting that coincided with the 5th Centenary of the discovery of America It was an excellent national showcase but a bad “business”, since the deficit generated by the difficult reuse of the space where it was held affected the national economy for five years.

The new concept to be offered in this edition of the Italian Milan is closely related to the sustainability of the planet.

Our response to this demand for new exhibition style, will focus on being able to represent the lifestyle of Mediterranean peoples, where agricultural activities and culinary traditions and festive celebrations around gastronomy will be the center of the Spanish proposal.

To carry it out, a representative architectural work of our DNA has been carried out through the Spanish Pavilion. Initiative managed by ASpanish Cultural ction (AC / E), public body responsible for the presence of Spain in the Universal Expos.


The Culinary Proposals of the Spanish Pavilion

The History of food, through the different moments and peoples that have forged our culinary culture, will be the beginning of the topics that can be seen in our exhibition space, along with debates on the future of food and the search for a fairer world, through sustainable food, which will be the cornerstones of our exhibition.

To carry out this complex postulate, we have wanted to generate a universal principle for our staging through the “taste“Relating it to knowledge in the purest humanistic style …

Spain contributes to the Millennium Goals of reducing hunger in the world and guaranteeing food security for future generations is one of the objectives of this sample.
