Solian – action

Solian is an antipsychotic tablet drug used in neurology and psychiatry. It is prescribed by psychiatrists for drug therapy against chronic and acute schizophrenia with positive symptoms (hallucinations, delusions, thinking disorders), as well as negative symptoms (social and emotional withdrawal, blunted feelings). Solian can be taken even in patients with a predominance of negative symptoms.

The active ingredient in Solian is amisulpride, a benzamide derivative that is often used in medications for schizophrenia.

Solian – doses

Solian is available as tablets or film-coated tablets for oral use. The frequency of intake and daily doses are determined by the attending physician. Follow his recommendations for the treatment with Solian to be effective and safe. The drug is prescribed according to the individual needs of the patient in a given disease state, therefore it should not be used in other cases or made available to third parties.

You must not drink alcohol during treatment. Solian should not be taken by anyone under the age of 15. It is important that the drug does not exceed the expiration date. Solian should be kept out of the reach of children, tightly closed in the package.

Solian – contraindications

The situations that exclude the use of Solian are:

  1. abnormal reaction to the components of the drug,
  2. neoplastic diseases related to prolactin levels, including breast cancer
  3. pheochromocytoma,
  4. hereditary galactose intolerance
  5. glucose-galactose malabsorption,
  6. disorders in the proper functioning of the kidneys,
  7. primary lactase deficiency,
  8. presumption of pregnancy, pregnancy and breastfeeding,
  9. taking other medications, including over-the-counter medications, as well as for Parkinson’s disease, for high blood pressure, anti-arrhythmic and diuretic medications, sedatives, sleeping pills and painkillers, laxatives, as well as other medications with antipsychotic effects (also if you are taking Solian for depression) .

Solian – side effects

The more common side effects in the use of Solian include:

  1. agitation and anxiety,
  2. insomnia,
  3. akathisia, profuse salivation, muscle stiffness and tremors
  4. chronic elevation of prolactin levels,
  5. impotence, gynecomastia, galactorrhoea, nipple pain, menstrual suspension,
  6. weight gain.

Less commonly, Solian causes:

  1. digestive tract disorders, including constipation, vomiting and nausea,
  2. drowsiness (risky when driving or operating machinery).

Solyan – dinner

Solian is available in three variants:

  1. Solian 100 mg — 30 tablets,
  2. Solian 200 mg — 30 tablets,
  3. Solian 400 mg – 30 film-coated tablets.

The selection should be determined by the attending physician. Solian can be purchased from prescription pharmacies. The price of the drug ranges from PLN 30 to PLN 130. Solian is on the list of reimbursed drugs.
