Vitamin C is essential for the proper functioning of the body and maintaining health. It is found in large amounts in many fruits and vegetables. Thus, a diet rich in these foods should meet the body’s need for vitamin C. However, there are situations when the body needs to be supplied with more of this vitamin.
When does the body need an increased dose of vitamin C?
Situations requiring vitamin C supplementation include:
- feverish diseases,
- weakening of the body during the recovery period,
- heavy physical exertion (physical work, playing sports),
- pregnancy and natural feeding,
- adolescence,
- hemorrhages
- treatment of wounds,
- treatment of bone fractures.
Vitamin C is also used in the treatment of colds and – prophylactically – in the period of increased incidence of colds and flu.

Vitamin C can be taken with natural food. Although there is enough of it in plant foods, deficiencies can occur when the diet is poor in these nutrients, or a person does not eat enough of these foods. Vitamin C is not stored in the body, its excess is excreted with the urine ..
Therefore, when there is an increased need for this vitamin, it is recommended to use sodium ascorbate. It is an organic chemical salt of ascorbic acid and sodium. Ascorbic acid is nothing more than vitamin C. The preparation contains almost 90% of it, the rest is sodium.

This dietary supplement has all the properties of vitamin C. It strengthens:

Vitamin C cannot be overdosed. Its excess does not cause negative effects, it is excreted from the body every day. It also does not lead to acidification of the body and does not impair its functioning. Nevertheless, the recommended dose should not be exceeded, because taking an increased amount of the preparation is simply a waste of it – it is not useful for the body. The recommended dose in the leaflet is 1000 mg per day to be dissolved in water or juice. The presence of juice increases the bioavailability of vitamin C due to the presence of natural bioflavonoids.
Contraindications
There are practically no contraindications. Only people who are hypersensitive to vitamin C or sodium should give up taking this supplement. High doses are not recommended for people suffering from urolithiasis and excessive renal excretion of oxalate.
