In our country, a system of social services has been created, whose responsibilities include providing conditions for the life of citizens and their development.
All rights to social protection are determined by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Social protection of children is the main direction of social policy
A set of measures contributes to ensuring social protection:
- labor protection and the establishment of a fixed amount of minimum wages;
- protection of human health;
- payments of pensions, disability benefits;
- material support for motherhood, protection of children and families;
- development of the system of social services.
The social policy of the state is aimed at creating opportunities for the realization of human needs, physical or spiritual.
Social protection is carried out in several directions:
- Social Security. Government measures aimed at improving the quality of life of certain segments of the population.
- Social support. It is carried out through the payment of benefits, subsidies, monetary compensation. Help can also be provided in the form of finished products – clothing, footwear, food.
- Social insurance. Support for the non-working population, including the elderly, at the expense of the state insurance fund.
The work is carried out at the federal level, as well as regional, local and collective.
How is the state support of the population carried out?
The protection of the population is carried out in four main areas:
- Implementation of social protection of children. The activity is aimed at ensuring the harmonious development of the child, his mental and creative abilities, the preservation of physical, moral and mental health. Children and adolescents with antisocial behavior, drug addiction, maladjustment in society require special attention.
- Family protection. The work is aimed at creating and preserving the institution of the family, providing conditions for future parents in the field of family planning, improving medical services to reduce child and maternal mortality.
- Protection of the able-bodied population. Creation of confidence for a working person in material support in the event of his illness or layoff.
- Protection of the disabled population. It is based on supporting the elderly and disabled people, meeting their needs for care and medical services.
Social policy is designed to protect the population from material and other difficulties, help in obtaining the necessary benefits and improve the quality of life.
The state directs efforts to support all segments of the population who are unable to cope with material difficulties on their own, including due to health problems, and also provides assistance to vulnerable members of society.
