Sobieski (Собески)

Sobieski is the flagship brand of the French company Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits. Vodka was named after the Polish king Jan Sobieski, who became famous in battles with the Turkish army. When releasing a product, the company set the task of combining the old traditions of Polish craftsmen and modern technologies. The Sobieski brand is in demand in Europe, the USA, as well as in Ukraine and Belarus.

Historical information

Sobieski vodka has been known in Poland since 1846. The French company has completely reproduced the old recipe, the main ingredient of which is rye alcohol. When creating the drink, Dankowski rye is used, which is grown in the agricultural regions of the Masovian Voivodeship. The naturally filtered water comes from late Paleolithic springs.

Initially, the recipe called for a four-fold distillation, but the company abandoned this method in favor of continuous distillation. Representatives of the company have repeatedly stated that it is not the quantity of processing of raw materials that is important, but their quality, and modern production technologies only improve the organoleptic characteristics of the drink. In addition to classic vodka, the line includes a number of varieties with the addition of natural fruit concentrates: lemon, orange, raspberry and vanilla.

Production features

Having successfully won European and American consumers, the company began promoting the Sobieski brand in the former CIS countries, setting up production in Ukraine and Belarus. An offer to sell the brand was made to BELUGA GROUP, but an agreement was not reached due to the high price. Russian buyers are familiar with Sobieski vodka, which is produced by the Belarusian company Akvadiv. The plant is located in the village of Malinovshchina, Minsk region.

For the production of Sobieski vodka, the company uses grain alcohol of the Lux brand of its own production. Natural water is purified from iron, passed through ion-exchange filters and treated with flint. This technology allows you to save taste and a maximum of useful elements. A blend of water and alcohol is purified using the “silver filtration” technology. The quality of finished products is controlled by the plant’s laboratories equipped with chromatographs.
