Small insects in the kitchen and bathroom: how to get rid of them
Insects in an apartment are very unpleasant, especially if they are planning to settle in the kitchen or bathroom. It is necessary to withdraw them as soon as possible. Of course, they are often simply incapable of causing great harm. But such a neighborhood is extremely unpleasant. And if small white insects are in the house, it’s time to start fighting them and win.
Small white insects: silverfish
What small insects can start?
Several species of insects are very fond of settling in the bathroom and in the kitchen. These small pests, as a rule, appear immediately in large numbers, which makes it difficult to remove them. White insects in apartments are of three types:
Silver silverfish;
· White springtail, or podura;
· Whitefly.
It is the first insect that can inhabit both the bathroom and the kitchen at the same time. It loves moisture very much, therefore it settles wherever there is water and food for it (everything that contains starch and sugar). It is very difficult to remove the silverfish: it reproduces exponentially. This insect looks like a light gray or white oblong drop, which has three small hairs sticking out in different directions from the sharp end. As a rule, if small white insects appear in the kitchen and bathroom at the same time, this is exactly the silverfish.
The crested tail is an extremely small white bug that loves to live in the land of domestic plants. It can often be seen in kitchen colors. He feeds on organic substances, but if there are a lot of them in one pot, then he is calmly able to eat the roots of plants. Because of the springtail, house flowers very often die.
If the insect flies and looks like a very miniature butterfly, it is a whitefly. She loves to eat the leaves and stems of plants, significantly depriving the latter of vitality.
How to get rid of nasty insects?
Small insects at home can significantly spoil the life of everyone who lives there. Because they are not only nasty, but also spoil the food and the appearance of the apartment.
Small insects in the bathroom or kitchen, for example, silverfish, are destroyed quite simply:
- first of all, you need to completely clean the room of debris and unnecessary items;
- then wash everything thoroughly with chlorine-based cleaning agents, fill every corner with it;
- after drying – coat all things with copper sulfate in the form of a solution. It is advisable to use a fan heater to dry the farthest corners of the room. Then, as a “control shot” – fill the room with dichlorvos and close it for a while;
- only then thoroughly clean every corner so that not a single gram of this poison remains.
Whitefly is easy to get rid of if you hang flypaper over the plants and turn on a mosquito fumigator in the kitchen. These insects will quickly poison and die.
The legtail can be removed if the plant is not watered long enough. They do not like drought and will disappear. But if this option is unacceptable, you can cut a raw potato in half, put it on the ground for a while with a slice. And then remove and kill all the suckers who have adhered to her. They like potatoes, so with it, over time, you will be able to catch them all.
Almost all insects can be killed with boric acid powder. For example, you can dilute it with water or mix it with boiled egg yolk and form small balls that should be scattered around the house. You can add starch or sugar.
