Small curls: how to make afro curls? Video
Curls in African style have not lost their relevance for several seasons in a row. They look great on both long and short hair due to their lightness and dizzying volume. An example of this are the win-win images of celebrities.
Afro curls – stylish, trendy and fresh
Curls are one of the brightest adornments of a woman. They visually correct the oval of the face and give the image more romanticism. African curls are a separate conversation. They will give their owner a mischievous, light look and will not leave the opposite sex indifferent. Small curls will perfectly fit into any summer look. On their basis, you can subsequently make a lot of bright and stylish hairstyles. Hair curled in curls will not cause much trouble, and will also delight your mistress and those around you with an ideal view.
Afro-curls can be done on hair of any length, but they look especially impressive on long hair.
You don’t have to run to the hairdresser to get this fluffy hairstyle. Afro curls can be easily created at home. In this case, thin papillots, small bobbins, boomerang curlers, a curling iron or an iron will help. With their help, you will get a new look without leaving your home, and at the same time save your budget.
Who will the curls go to?
Curls are fashionable and stylish, but it is important to understand that they are not suitable for every girl. Afro curls on long hair can only afford high и slender fashionistas. Of course, you can curl your hair in the same way and owners of small stature. In this case, shoulder-length curls will look much more advantageous. So the curls will not visually shorten the silhouette.
Chubby girls are also better off avoiding African-style curls – this hairstyle will visually expand and enlarge the face. If, on the contrary, you are the owner skinny и elongated face, then small curls will be an ideal hairstyle option. Remember at least Sarah Jessica Parker: her lush curls successfully mask imperfections in her face. Nastya Kamenskikh, Solange Knowles, Julia Roberts, Shakira and Beyoncé are also star fans of such curls.

4 ways to make African curls
1. With braids
The easiest way to create afro curls is to braid your hair in small pigtails for several hours, and then gently braid and give the hair the desired shape using a modeling gel. And the Afrostyle hairstyle is ready!
You can make it even easier – collect your hair in a tight ponytail at the crown and divide it into several strands. The more there are, the finer the curls will turn out. The strands must be twisted into pigtails, and after three hours, unravel, sprinkle with varnish and enjoy the effect! These methods are suitable for owners of long and medium hair.
Editor’s tip
– I love afro curls for several reasons: in addition to being trendy, this styling is easy to do. And it will last until the next wash.
My favorite way is to braid the slightly damp hair after washing in 2-4 pigtails at night. And in the morning, after you untwist them, lower your head down and beat thoroughly with your hands. In terms of styling, I prefer to wear the hair on one side in the style of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
2. Afro-curls with curlers
You will need:
styling foam
small curlers
polish
Wash and dry your hair a little. Apply styling foam to them.
Separate a section of hair and roll it with curlers. Curls on short hair will have a clearer and more natural shape if you wind very thin strands.
Remove the curlers after 2-3 hours. During this time, the hair will be completely dry and will acquire the desired shape. Sprinkle the resulting curls with varnish.
Afrostyle curls will perfectly fit into a business look. To do this, you should carefully collect the strands that fall on the face and stab them from behind.
3. Afro-curls by ironing at home
You will need:
ironing-iron
hairdryer
thermospray
Wash your hair and dry it with a hair dryer. Apply a heat shield spray to your hair to minimize the harmful effects of the iron.
Part off a small section of hair. The thinner it is, the finer the curls will turn out, and the image will become more playful.
Wrap a strand around your finger, and then remove the resulting ring. Gently press it between the hot ironing plates. Hold for seven to ten seconds.
Take the resulting curl by the tip and fluff it with your fingers. Roll your whole head in this way. Subsequently, the curls can be fixed with varnish. So that they do not stick out on different sides, the strands must be wound extremely tightly.
On curlers and an iron, the hair should be wound strictly from the ends to the roots. When using spiral curlers – from roots to ends.
4. Afro-curls with hairpins
You will need:
20-30 hairpins and invisibility
hairdryer
polish
Wash your hair and blow dry until it is lightly damp.
Comb your hair, take a small strand and wind it around the hairpin with a figure eight, that is, alternately bending around one end or the other. Twist the strand in this way until it ends.
Attach a hairpin with curled hair to your head using a bobby pin. Then do the same with the rest of the hair. Keep in mind that the hair should be damp during the curling process. If dry, sprinkle with water.
Remove the studs after two hours.
The ideal option is to keep the hairpins on your head all night.
Comb the resulting curls with a massage comb – a gorgeous Afro-styled hairstyle is ready! If you want to get less fluffy curls, then do not comb them, but simply spread them with your fingers. Fix the curls with varnish.
