Slippery Nipple – spicy punk cocktail

Slippery Nipple is a sweet layered cocktail of sambuca, Baileys and grenadine with a strength of 28% vol. Despite the extravagant name, it is considered a feminine drink.

The place of origin and the author of the recipe are unknown. It is believed that this cocktail was created in the late 70s of the XX century by punks – fans of the Sex Pistols.

The name of the cocktail was due to the characteristic shape of a drop of grenadine in a layer of sambuca.

Composition and proportions:

  • sambuca – 25 ml;
  • Baileys – 25 ml;
  • grenadine (pomegranate syrup) – 1 drop.

Requires a classic light sambuca. Baileys can be replaced with any Irish cream, for example, Carolans liqueur.

Cocktail recipe Slippery nipple

1. Pour sambuca into a shot.

2. Using a cocktail spoon or carefully place a layer of Baileys on the blade of a knife so that it does not mix with sambuca. How to properly stack the layers of a cocktail is described in a separate article.

3. Take a drop of grenadine into a straw. To do this, immerse one end of the tube in pomegranate syrup, and on the reverse side, slightly pull the liquid towards you with your mouth, and then close the hole with your finger.

4. Lower the tube into the Baileys layer strictly vertically in the center of the shot and drip grenadine, removing your finger from the second hole and slightly squeezing the tube.

It is very important to add the grenadine correctly so that the “nipple” will turn out to be the correct shape.

5. Drink a cocktail in one gulp.
