Slimming tea with ginger root. Video recipe
Ginger root increases the metabolic rate and stimulates blood circulation, aiding in the elimination of toxins. It is these properties that make ginger tea a good weight loss stimulant. There are several recipes for making spicy tea.
How ginger helps you lose weight
Ginger roots contain a rare substance – gingerol, which enhances blood circulation and activates metabolic processes. Ginger tea will help digest food and regulate cholesterol levels. The vitamins, minerals and amino acids found in ginger root fight cardiovascular problems, and the combination of aroma and phytocides helps to overcome stress and has tonic properties. Ginger tea aids digestion, but too much of this drink can lead to stomach upset, just as a small dose of the root will suppress nausea, and a large dose can provoke vomiting. It is also worth remembering that too much ginger drink can lead to acidity and low sugar levels, so diabetics should not drink ginger tea.
Ginger tea is a tonic drink, if you do not want to suffer from insomnia, do not drink tea with ginger at night
How to choose and store ginger root
When buying fresh ginger, make sure that the root is smooth, firm, free of the slightest traces of mold and gives off a pleasant, distinctive aroma. The product must weigh more than it appears. Young ginger has a smooth, thin skin that can be easily scraped off with a fingernail; fresh root is smooth when cut. The longer the root lays, the drier and lighter it is, its flesh becomes fibrous. Choose a young root, as not only does it last longer, but it also contains more active compounds, including higher levels of gingerol. Dried ginger retains only a fraction of the beneficial properties of the fresh root.
Fresh ginger roots can be stored in the refrigerator by wrapping in paper towels or placing in a plastic bag. So ginger lasts up to three weeks. In an airtight container, ginger can be kept in the refrigerator for over a month. The root can be frozen and stored in the freezer for up to two months. Dried ginger retains its properties if stored in a dry, dark place for at least 6 months.

Peel a piece of ginger root by scraping off the skin and cut into thin slices. You can also chop the ginger root into julienne – thin, match-like pieces, or grate. But the root, cut into “coins”, is easier to brew. In a small ladle, bring the water to a boil. Dip the ginger and simmer over medium heat for another 10 minutes.
